I might have to get the tuxedo Bond. Plus the scar on his cheek makes him accurate to how he looks in the novels.

I always loved the packaging on these 90s Action Man toys. I had a few but I wasn’t aware they were any different than Joes

Action Man was a HUGE hit in my homecountry of Greece during the 90's and the early 2000s. He was pretty much Barbie for us boys and i used to have a big collection!😀

Its wonderful box art like these tht's just another reason why i don't mind talk of toys going back to closed boxes. The boxes were part of the experience as a child.

Hasbro basically used the Action Man brand to relaunch the Adventure Team part of the GiJoe brand. The IDW Revolution comics had Action Man be the British best friend of the Original GiJoe Joe Colton. The one featured in the comic was his son.

It's always nice to see the man who lent his likeness to Neo-Action Force speak about AF's predecessor Action Man.

I had a couple of these, and had to sell them when money got tight. Now that I am doing OK money-wise, I'm gonna seek these out. Already have a huge Bond collection, so not having at least one of these figures on display with it seems... Wrong. A great video, as always, from your soft-handed fan...

The Sir Sean Connery James Bond in British Naval Officer's uniform would be the I'd get. You Only Live Twice was the very first 007 film I saw. In terms of head sculpt, more movie accuracy would've made them more desirable. I think the head was also influenced by how James Bond was described in the novels, with a scar down his cheek and loose strands of hair. The James Bond figure for The Spy Who Loved Me needed not only a functional Union Jack parachute, but his right ski-pole should've also converted into a carbine as seen in the movie. 007's wristwatch in the novels was a Rolex Oyster Perpetual, and Sir Sean Connery wore such in his movies. Sir Roger Moore used mostly Seiko watches, and I think Pierce Brosnan used an Omega. For a Timothy Dalton version, his tactical outfit from the opening scenes of The Living Daylight (where the entire 00 Section took on 22 SAS on Gibraltar), or his tuxedo from later where M gives James Bond license to kill KGB General Pushkin would've been a good picks.

I didn't have these, but I got knockoff figures clearly inspired by "James Bond" around the same time in the late 90s for X-Mas. I cannot remember the name of them though!

Great review Tony, 100% agree with every point you made. The Spy who loved me themed outfit is by far the best, i do have a small collection of 90's MAM and that would be one i'd be interested in adding to my collection.

I got inspired by this and the recent re release of goldeneye game to make my own Bond amalgamation using various figure lines. Great video Tony.

I really enjoyed watching this video on you showing and giving the back story on these Action Man James Bond Figures. I also really hearing your thoughts and views on each Action Man James Bond Figure. My favourite Action Man James Bond Figure is definitely the Goldeneye set because I just totally love his black tactical outfit, it’s a nice and simple outfit. The one explosive device Is cool looking. I think it was a real pity that the black pouches you couldn’t put anything in them. I actually think that the Hasbro Action Man head sculpt was actually designed on Pierce Brosnan’s hair and face.

Nice vid. I didn't collect these sorts of dolls/figures hen but I was in Toys'r'us a lo and I feel I would have noticed them. I didn't even know they existed. I really like the iconic Moore one.

I’m kinda curious to see how the outfits look on the classic Action Man figures. I feel like the extra articulation could help a bit. Although I have a feeling that the shoes would still be tricky to deal with.

I wonder if the fact that the guns don't fit the hands and the feet are too small is that it was the 90s. So many people had started collecting and EVERYTHING had to be mint in box that they figured nobody would take it out of the box they clearly spent too much design time on. 😂 Of this just might be the opinion of a jaded boy from the 90s. 😂

Was thinking of getting the figure in royal navy uniform, not for the figure as I only like vintage action man, but for the uniform. But it's such a bulky figure that i'm not sure it will fit a vintage guy! and the shoulders on those 90s one's look odd to me! although to be honest the whole figure looks odd to me!

So whens Valaverse gonna do a version of Desert Rat in his MI6 uniform?

I’ve always looked at these on eBay but there usually near £100 and don’t look like the action man we had as kids that were so well made I was six when my Local toy shop zodiac lol said they could get no more action man and I remember them selling the basic army figures off for £0.99 pence each

It's a shame really. Aside from the odd vintage figures like these and the big chief studios figures that will be way out of most people's budgets, there hasn't really been any good quality James Bond figure line

Never understood the "better" HOF body. At that point Hasbro's Stateside G.I. Joes had better bodies.

I agree the one in yellow jacket is betterment. But they shouldn't called it action man. Only faults over sized heads and hands and should be rubber gripping hands. Also they shouldn't make James bond figure and pass off as action man or any other character from say star wars.

Using the default Action Man head sculpt for these was an odd choice. They're more like Action Man cosplaying as James Bond than James Bond. Guess Hasbro didn't feel like dishing out for licensing fees to use the actors' likenesses.

Most makers of Bond licenced merch don't want to hunt down likeness rights. Even Game developers ended up doing games based on older films using the current bond where the likeness is included. Rare dropped a all bond mode because of cost.

There not actually action man figures in my opinion. And they should not have put that scar on his cheek. That's G.I. Joe and Action man trading. Its like Cadbury s isn't Cadbury there using a brand name to make cheaper products The 70s action man figures were the best. Recently bought a 1973 Field commander and the quality on that dolls far better than the 1982 talking commander eagle eye. Even the 1992 G.I Joe. Duke US army soldier looks better than the 82 action man
