Action Hell up in Harlem!!! Heritage locomotives, M3’s galore, and continuous heavy action. 5/2/24

Ойын-сауық

I have been to the great New York City hotspot of Harlem 125th St. many times over the years, but I have never had such an enjoyable and rewarding time here as this. I saw 3 out of 4 of the newly painted MN heritage units plus 3 out of 4 NH heritage units. MN also threw virtually their entire fleet of M3’s past me. We also hear numerous train announcements of various trains with an equally varied number of destinations. The gorgeous weather added to the enjoyment. Numerous times I saw 3 and sometimes 4 trains at once. I identified the trains as best I could but with this kind of traffic density, it is nearly impossible. Enjoy this frantic train action with occasional humor thrown in. Don’t let the background noises discourage you from going there to railfan. I felt quite safe there. There are lots of people who use the station in the rush-hour.

Just imagine all the coordination required to make this scene happen. Devising schedules, rounding up crews and equipment, lining switches, cleaning and fueling, etc. Amazing!

Excellent work, Tim. Sure hope the MTA preserves a pair of those M3A after their retirement.

They said retired Railfan will become Unretired Railfan when he sees all of the parade we have for him today. You got the super special. I’m sure it makes you want to railfan at Harlem-125 Street more often. I caught all heritage units street level during walking the city but never recorded and up close. You do a better job than most of us 😂❤

I make KZread videos (though not on the scale that you do). I have certain pet peeves. I edit out profanity, performers, sirens, and anything else that I feel detracts from the viewing experience. The only things I want to hear are announcements and the sound made by the trains.
