    Poker players on Poker out Loud: “delivers thought out analysis and dials ranges down to a few hands come the river (occasionally)” Me after opening UTG and getting flat called by the BTN: “Preflop analysis: didn’t 3bet me preflop so he can’t have AA. Flop analysis: didn’t 3 bet me pre flop so he can’t have AA. Turn card analysis: didn’t 3bet me preflop so he cant have AA. River: didn’t 3bet me preflop so he can’t have AA.” My set of 88 gets coolered by his set of 99 My take away: didn’t 3bet me preflop so he couldn’t have had AA

    wow thanks guys totally changed how i perceive my game and poker on a nuanced level, i wasnt a very big fan of Berkey watching him play Garret at live at the bike but for real i understand his process so much more that makes me think hes actually got alittle more edge than Garret i would like to see Berkey play Red or Linus like an all star line up of the best cash gamers at live at the BIKE??

    He's got a point though, Kelly was stepping outside the boundaries of the spirit of the concept of why POL exists. Chin was obviously triggered by her actions, can't really blame him, but at the end of the day she gets to be judgement proof.

    I just scroll past the ads before watching until all the yellow spots are cleared, then I watch the full video without the annoying ads. Usually they get cleared without playing. Sometimes an ad will play while clearing them out, but at least then I can watch the entire video without interruptions. See you at the tables mate.

    What are SYMMETRICAL ranges? Does it mean both players having similar ranges? Or does it mean ONE player has an equal amount of bluffs to value? Or something else?

    Yep.... I play 1/3 and when I started to implement such strategies I broke even for the month 😄 which is over 100 hrs. To win in 1/3 you have to be betting just value heavy. It’s gonna make you a worse player but that’s the way to win...

    It's a little frustrating to have GTO strat out there and learn able but knowing you have to first learn the "incorrect" (exploitable) way to play instead of learning the optimal theory and learning to exploit afterwards. Wierd game.

To even begin to exploit correctly you absolutely need a basis in fundamental theory otherwise you don't truly know what, who, why, or how you are even exploiting a spot or a player. Having the knowledge of theory gives you a foundation to deviate from.

    I do absolutely love this series, think it's an awesome idea. However, possibly have a disclaimer for them not to get too in-depth with their analysis, I'm already 11 minutes in and we're still on the 1st hand. Just seems excessive

    I remember Berkey saying they police it heavily, plus they’re playing for pretty low stakes considering they’re all high stakes players, so the incentive to cheat is low.

    Fraught, if you turned trips, when the flush hits, you would still check raise? Not sure if that’s a smart move. Definitely not standard to check raise trips with 3 spades out there.

    Hate being critical of poker players but Hunt reasoning is something you see from fish or bad lower stake pros all the time with combos. If he has 20+ combos that are bluffing over 33% of the time, Chin is losing money. Combo argument only works if your opponent has this hand and does this 100% of the time.

    Calling an all-in on a paired up board? It's a fold if you don't have it. Love the show, but GTO has to play more sensibly than this, and not be used to talk yourself into a call when your opponent could clearly just have a number of hands that beat you. Love the show though.

    Paused the video to write this: When dude had 9s full, that's a CLEAR check on the river (unless you know your opponent is VERY PASSIVE.) The other guy (bald pale dude) has a range that is FILLED with jacks and busted draws.

    Chin could have the same busted draws in his range. Overbet could be called or induce a re-raise. That bet doesn't have to work very often for it to be a profitable play.

    "Filled with Jacks" is a bit of an overstatement. I'd definitely recommend a check here in general at low stakes because villain tends to show up with missed draws most of the time though.

    There are always 3 options, bet, check, or fold. Chin doesn't even consider the option of checking. Fishcake = Chin
