The choreography is by the incredibly talented Chris gatelli. When I was dancing in NYC, I had a few callbacks for Newsies. It’s a dream show as a male dancer

That's Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Crutchie. He's been in a few things on Broadway like Tuck Everlasting, Poppins, Seussical, Beauty & The Beast. He was even in Alan Menken's version of A Christmas Carol.

As a dancer I admire the dance, as a singer I admire Jeremy's voice, and as a theatre nerd I adore the story- (At your millionth replay its so much better then the first and that is a quality I LOVE!)

Lol exactly this! I was a movie fan and the first time I watched the musical version, I was like, cool! That was pretty fun! I still think I prefer the movie though...can't beat young Christian Bale. But then the next day I had this urge to watch it again "just to see the dancing one more time..." It's been 2 months since I first watched the Broadway version, and now I'm pretty sure I've seen it 30 times or so! (I play it in the background while Iim cleaning and even when I'm studying/working lol) It really does get better every time too! I have officially placed it above the movie in my personal rankings too...sorry mom.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE MUSICAL OMG Also when you watch it 10,457 times like I have, you know every single characters full name, real name and all of the facts lol. Ben cook who plays Racetrack Higgins (Race or Racer most often) almost kicks himself over in seize the day lol There is also the movie in 1992 called Newsies, but that one has a very different take on the story. Especially with the versions of Santa Fe. If you need any information on literally anything Newsies related I gotchu lol

Came across your (very good) video reviewing Newsies. You posted this less than a fortnight (!!) ago, looking at a 2017 performance. Yet it closed on Broadway in 2014. I’m trying to understand the context - are you reviewing the musical ahead of its Nov 2022 debut in London? (sorry to seem so daft [!!] )

Re: accents - New Yorkers in 1899 had no television or movies so the accents they picked up were from their families, often immigrants, so it's likely that the newsies should likely have trouble understanding each other. So rather than have the tower of babble be the focus of the show, the powers that were picked an accent that would have a familiarity to most New Yorkers. Mostly. Look for the phrase just before King of New York -"the woild is your erster." Not gonna translate.
