I agree. It's the best musical I'd ever seen. I think some of the songs are better versions than the Beatles originals. It's great they have found all these good actors that are very good singers as well. I will watch this musical again & again forever.

I think the most beautiful part of that scene and the way the song is interpreted is that we can see she is clearly already in love with him but she won’t let herself fall deeply. She is holding on to past hurt and the fear of being hurt again, she’s on the cusp and just waiting for a sign from him. And that’s what we see when they kiss, she lets go.

Not really, in her (the girl I the video) situation, yeah it gives it a feel. But maybe John could've meant the same thing as he had affairs with different woman while with Cynthia so the song could've been for that one girl he'll want to stay with.

I meant the "love me more than her" part. When a guy sings it, it would mean love him more than his ex did but when a girl sings it, it would mean to love her than *he* loved his ex. that's all

Sweetheart staying in love is the beautiful part, falling in love is the easiest part. Lust and emotions tend to manipulate one another. I fell in love with my childhood friend at 15 years old. Unfortunately we were going in two different directions at that time, still remained friends. He married my best friend they had three beautiful children together, she started doing drugs and left for 14 years I raised her kids, and four years ago my childhood sweetheart and I got back together and the love we have for each is stronger than it ever was.

Love her voice and the tempo they used for this. This really gives this song the DeBussy vibe I thought it always had, where each note and the space between each note is important. The perfect tempo for a string quartet arrangement of this song.

Her version is so beautiful it makes me cry. It wows me every time I hear it

This film was perfect, as its director, actors, and crew managed to turn Beatles songs, which were already beautiful and touched our souls, into songs that deeply touched our souls. This movie made a big difference in my life. If I watch it 50 times, I'll cry 50 times, even more so after I found out that from its release, Evan would have the worst years of her life ahead of her.

Evan is just brilliant in 'Running with Scissors' & 'Pretty Persuasion'...oh and in 'Down in the Valley', ah basically in everything she touches. She's a joy to look at & to be around with.

There is no song on Earth more beautiful than the original verion of Across the Universe. I am not religious in any sense of the word, but brings me closer to a spiritual experience than any music I have ever heard. The melody sounds as if it was inspired by the gods themselves.

She takes this song to a whole other level....

I’ve only seen this movie maybe twice, at the theater when it came out and maybe once as a “rental” (yea I’m talking years). But I’ve never forgotten this song. I find myself singing it at random times throughout the years. I love when she gets to “just holding hands.” Beautiful!
