Acronym P30-A DS Full Overview + On Body

Wide pants for a wide boi
Released as part of SS19, the Acronym P30-A DS are an upgrade to the P30 DS and add zip-off sections to leg, making them convertible between cropped and full length. These pants represent a comfortable and mobile multi-season pant which, on account of their unusual shape, require a little thought into their styling

Having a few different friends who all have these pants, I can say that, having seen the cut in person, it really is a great blend between some of the more "gi" inspired trousers they create, and the more relaxed cut silhouettes as well, like what you'd see out of a P-23. The first thing I feel like I'm going to see in this comment section is people complaining about the price. Especially because resell on this model is crazy because of the popularity. I think it's important to realize though that these pants have a really incredible dichotomy of being loud and subtle at the same time. A statement, but incredibly wearable in a daily sense as well. While finding steals is great and is a reasonable priority for everyone (myself included), items like this can stand the test of time like a leather jacket, and retain their value as well. They're just an awesome investment piece. Thanks for going over them!

Gawddamn those are some nice pants. Very good review! I really like how they are quite versatile with the length for functionality and aesthetic options. Even though the vapormax is a slim shoe, it works well with the baggy pants

Picked up P30A on 19SS and j79TS GT on 19AW, with NG4AK. P30A is my first acronym pant and it almost immediately become my daily drive. My own experience on this pant is this one is not design for a slim fit even it’s a nice summer pant. You must layer up to get a better and more balanced look, otherwise it’s little weird. Talking about J79, big warning: it’s not looking good without a insulated jacket inside! J79 has the widest sleeve I’ve ever seen in my closet. Bought size M as I usually wear but this one got a HUGE free space on sleeve, especially in your elbow joint part. I can understand why E do this cause GT has no elasticity and it can limit your movement if it’s slim cut. But J79 looks almost terrible when wear alone cause there are too oversize if look from the back. This one may only work for a cold winter season.

I really wanted the P30s but my wallet said NOPE!! Instead, I went and got the version from Enshadower, which look very similar. Including the two hanging straps. The pair cost me $64 and I couldn't be happier! The fit, the quality, the silhouette, I'm glad I cheaped out this time around.

  • @ringrev

I'd disagree. In my opinion, baggie fits generally look better on shorter guys. It's quite simply a matter proportionality. You need a certain volume to fill out the surface area for the best possible fit. If you're a slim + tall guy, who likes baggie fits, not looking like a mast and sail is a challenge. Subtract 10 cm, but keep the weight the same (thereby increasing the volume of the body proportionally) and a baggie fit is more likely to come together nicely. Obviously, all depending on the brand. For instance, being a tall+slim guy, I tend to stay right away from Italian brands. Too many of their patterns are made for proportions that simply will not look good on me. In my experience, ACRNM falls into this camp of fits when it comes to the larger sizes. In contrast, Scandinavian brands use patterns that generally will fit me very nicely. (But little to no techwear designs.) Quite a few Asian brands as well, although I'll need to size up 2-3 X's. That being said, we can hopefully agree that when the baggie fit DOES come together for a tall guy, it looks pretty damn amazing!

Oh god, I hate those pants. They are developed from ugly type harem pants (in Turkey they still wear those type pants somewhere in the backlands). From a british perspective its something like to see ugly browny, cigar smelling, vintage tweed pants combined with asian style fashion. For some reason these type of pants can be widely seen combined with all type of techwear clothings. And $1k is really a joke . No hate to acrnm but they should really overthink their price strategy . I can import you those type of pants for $1 / kg from Turkey. I use to wear regular fit, cargo pants (surplus, vintage industries, brandit...) when I rock techwear.
