it's just scary to me. It's happened in literally every vid I've watched about this place. And honestly, with how bad these 2 are at driving, I'd be fkng terrified having them in my rear mirror too. I'd definitely get out of the way too, not because I don't wanna race them, but because I'd only ever want to be BEHIND them.

@@miner4236 on my trip to Italy, everyone would move out of the way on the highways if you were driving faster than them. I am from the US, and unfortunately, not everyone is courteous enough to do that.

I love how the idle and low speeds of the Viper sound like a tractor, then you open it up and it sounds just as awesome as any super car out there.

Well didn't Lamborghini design this thing's engine? Because at the time they were owned by Chrysler. This was before all the German influence; before the Audi acquisition. Hence it has the characteristic of a classic Lamborghini: Raw, Wild, Untamed, and Dangerously Unpredictable/Uncontrollable when you hit a certain speed. Just like Bull riding... just like Bull riding :)

@@cyberspectre8675 maybe now, after discontinuation and markups, MSRP used to be around corvette prices. And they were even faster than any corvette. In comparison, check r34 and supra prices and compare stock performance, you will see which is overrated.

Unfortunately these cars are too low and heavy to really "attack" the Dragon. They'll scrape (as I'm sure you're aware) on some of those down dipping hair pins. Good vid though! Porsche better quit crossing that double yellow. You should try: The Rattler, Hell Bender, The Snake, . You'll be able to open up that GTS much more.
Viper got power and downforce, porsche is nimble and has extremely good handling. Excellent video. Had my heart racing

As far as track performance goes it's actually kind of backwards, a viper corners faster than the porsche and the porsche is faster in the straights 😅
This is just so calming yet thrilling to watch, great driving from the both of you!!!

It was a good run but watching the GT3 and Vipers race at Road Atlanta during the Petite Le Mans was an awesome sight to see as they truly show what these cars are capable of.

Biggest adrenaline rush of my life, doing the Tail of the Dragon in a highly modified 2001 Mustang Cobra.
Looks so freaking fun! Can't wait to get a great handling car one day so I can go here too!

I do miss the tail. Back in my sport bike riding days I would ride all the way down the parkway from VA to the tail.

Awesome vid, I just did the Tail for the first time today in my lightly modified 2014 Subaru Brz. What I noticed was the amount of shifting that you didn't have to do, I was up and down between 2 and 4th the whole way. You got so much HP and torque in that thing you barely had to shift, looks like you just keep it in 3rd. Awesome driving in an awesome car 👍😎

Your BRZ would be waiting for both these cars to pull over and let you by. The Dragon is made for light weight high torque cars.
Man, you sure know how to wrestle that Viper. Sure looks like a handful, but very fun nonetheless. TOTD is on my bucket list to take my bike in the short future and my street/track car once I decide what to get. New sub here!

This takes me back to the early 90s, when I lived in nearby Maryville and spent two or three days each week up at the Gap. That was before the Internet blew it up. There was never a day with as much traffic as you see on this run, but every once in a while there was a trucker who tried to make it through!

Cool video it’s easier to chase than lead. The Porsche is the clear winner here as it runs away from the higher h.p. Viper numerous times. Still an exciting contest. I’d like to see the Porsche chasing the Viper next.
Nice driving. I just did it in an MR2 Spyder and that was about as fast as my brain could handle.
The Porsche handles better and it shows, but the Viper didn't look nearly as squirrelly as I would have figured it would. Entertaining video for sure!

@@tylercallis1429 The ACR viper is good no doubt. But to say it'll "hold higher speeds while cornering" than a Porsche is kind of an odd thing to say. It was Porsche that dethroned the ACR at the nurburgring and a GT3RS shits all over it in the corners. The new GT3RS is mental.
That is so kewl that people pull over for the fast guys

I did 3.55’s in mine. Made it more fun to drive. The long gears were actually a complaint of mine. I like to shift lol. The car was way too capable to have fun with on the streets,unlike you want to drive like a total asshole.

Whats your cruising RPM's looking like? 3.55 still seems tall. I put 4.10 gears in my C10 with the Viper T56 and I feel like 4.56 would work nice. V10 torque must be amazing tho

2nd is such a good gear for this road. First ever run, I left my E60 M5 in auto and realized how much of a mistake that was. Came back with M-Drive on and left it in 2nd. Entirely different animal and much more enjoyable.

Dope video. Usually these types of videos the guys cant drive for shit or are crossing the lines often. But you know this car and you can clearly drive. Your first gear is longer than my 3rd lol. But in terms of car, you just cannot compete with porsches precision and balance when it comes to this shit. ACR looks like a lot of fun, sketchy in those corner exits at low speed 😂

You should check out my latest video. I lead/follow with the same car this year. Tighter lines and getting more comfortable with the car so overall pace was faster. She’s def rowdy but holds its own. You’re right about the 911 tho. Precise machines forsure.
There’s a lil road that I’ve driven probably 50 times now and my 5.0 on about 25 of those times and it’s so much fun to know the flats and when to downshift cuz of an upcoming curve or to press on the throttle to get that extra half sec of speed before you gotta slam the brakes. The best part is the double hairpin I do where I fly in at about 75mph going to a rise that necessitates me to downshift two gears with my foot HEAVY on the break cuz at the bottom is the double hair pin and I’m still reviving high in first as I go through the turns. Something about the body roll and engine noise I just love

I may not have the control of a light body car like Miata or a brz I can just throw around corners with no fear but the acceleration and noise I hear as I hit the flats and knowing I hit it at the right time is just music to my ears. Down shift down shift flat run up shift roar up shift roooooaaar. It’s all fun no matter the car

@@advicemaster1365 oh it is stick and on that road there are times where I skip from 4 to 2. A lot of it is done at 4K rpms that way I can get the balance between launch, upshift and if I’m braking I’m able to be in high rpm in second. I’ve done the same run in a c7 grand sport and that is absolutely insanity. As much as I can do in my GT that blew me away
