Just based on their reaction you know these are some sweet guitars where the technology really is as advertised. Even if they were paid to say it was crap, you'd never believe it because of how much fun they're really having! Any product that elicits this type of emotional response from well versed players that have access to literally everything in the industry is truly high praise for yamaha.

The effects are awesome, but forgetting about the effects for a moment, this guitar is one of the best sounding guitars I have ever played. I've played some Taylors, Martins, and Gibsons in the 3k to 5k and this guitar is right up there with them. I'd say it is a good compromise between a Martin and a Taylor. It would sit right in the middle in terms of tone. I hope Yamaha keeps selling them for about $1k.

Judging from your reactions to the Transacoustic, and your fabulous demo, this is the one for me (LS - concert body though). I agree with earlier posts that we would love to hear more from the two of you playing together. Please post some videos of you guys jamming on acoustics, You both play so well together and clearly have a lot of fun doing it. You're both an inspiration to those of us aspiring to learn to play guitar.

I bought one a couple of years ago. I’ve had a Gibson,a couple of Alvarez’s (one was a YARI),a Martin OM-1, but they didn’t beat the sound of this guitar. I guess I got one of those 1 in a 1000 guitars. I’ve gotten so many compliments from people. Even without the electronics on. I LOVE this Guitar. Her name is Sweetie. You can start playing and before you know it hours have passed.

I was playing with an old Banjolin from FG Heiser. I was playing in my lap and it was dull and muted. I was getting kind of frustrated so I put it on the table. Then I plucked a string and it was loud. It was like the table became part of the instrument and a speaker for the instrument and it did. I was down a beach here in southern California when the cube street came out and a man was playing and signing through it and it sat on the cement. The cement became part of the amplification. There was an overhang and the sound was everywhere. Tiny amp. Last night I was looking at the wooden speaker boxes for iPhones here on KZread. Yamaha likes to try new things. They are proven innovators.

The circuit board is effectively a couple of effects pedals and a weak power amp, coupled to one or more tranducers which are attached to the guitar's back (on the inside, obviously). It surprises me that neither Mick nor Pete could figure that out.

The whole acoustic guitar body becomes a loudspeaker, sending vibrations to all directions at the same time. Try to strum a open-G tuned acoustic guitar, not-transacoustic, and spin it. It also sounds amazing spinning. But anyway, don't pay attention to some nonsense I might write if I write too much and you're out of time. Cheers!!! Luke. P.S.: summing the acoustic strings vibration to that of the driver magnet, you get an acoustic doubling closer to the doppler effect than an electronic pedal would get (doppler needs more movement speed interference, but I would call it "micro-doppler", similar to reeds accelerating the sound inside an accordion or double strings on a 12-string guitar making wavefronts randomly collide due to proximity, as some sort of "forced-doppler"). That's interesting about those guitars you both just showed.

I just purchased one of these but the delivery date is expected in 3-4 months due to CITES regulations. They really need to find a better solution to these regulations, especially if we want to continue with international trade. I've spoken to a number of dealers and there are many guitar players currently being affected. One guitar rep told me that due to CITES they're dealing with record low numbers on guitars being sent out; it's pretty bad.
