I’ve lived in South Korea for almost 20 years, taught in some of the top universities, played guitar, and banjo in a “Live Cafe” here in Daejeon and have learned to admire the dedication of these Koreans to perfection. It is apart of their culture to take great pride in their jobs and education. This factory is an excellent example of efficient design and pride in one’s job. I have always been a Martin guitar man but do play Crofter Guitars and one can hear the precision and skill embedded into each instrument. I am proud to have been the professor at KAIST teaching the craft of design for these wonderful students. I now have past students spread all over the world doing what they do best, putting all their energy into making the world a better place for all.

@@mikewashere9660 ... and of course - I should imagine most others will agree - probably over 99% of people own and play a musical instrument that is mass produced such as these, wouldn't know what the experience, cost, or tone such a quality could offer, even if it stood itself up and violently broke its back about a splintered skull in the attempt. Such a point of view as yours would surely lack the respect earned by George over nearly 20 years, above, even in the attempt, so it would seem ... 🤗 ...

@@oinkooink speaking as a player I would not call Korean made guitars crap at all. They are well built of good materials and are good value for money...and never leave the factory unfinished as one Fender USA guitar I bought did. Paid twice for that klunker than I would have for a well made Fender made in Korea or Japan.

I've had the good fortune to build a number of guitars. Anyone wishing to build one, or understand how they are built only needs to watch this video. It is literally the definition of the step you take from start to finish. Yes, there are some machine interventions, like vacuum vs go-bars or spool clamps, and a mechanical press vs spanish tourniquet for joining tops, etc., but it's all there. All of it.

Очень поучительное видео о создании шедевра, и таких нужно выкладывать больше, чтобы простой человек зайдя в магазин не спрашивал, - "а чо так дорого, вот я на своей работе... И никто не ценит". Сколько любви, манипуляций, тонкостей при изготовлении казалось бы простой гитары, и так друзья, в каждом деле, особенно цените труд дворников и техничек, они наше лицо. Не уважаешь, значит и сам (сама) не подмыт. С любовью Я

Практически книжный пример для психолога на лекции студентам по шизе. Навалил негатива на грани ненависти, добавил "с любовью" и типа отмежевался от тех, "кто спрашивает", а сам - вот он я - белый и пушистый, "любите меня". Интересно, сам-то этот момент осознаешь?

Для тебя гитара, это просто гитара, а в союзе изготавливали музыкальные иструменты ужасного качества, которые только с виду были похожи на инструменты. Все музыканты пытались как нибудь по связям достать что то из заграницы.

i have a south korean guitar i bought in the early 1990s. i paid about 450 dollars for it brand new and it came with a hardshell case. it has the abalone shell on the fretboard, rosette and around the soundboard. i play the guitar daily and NEVER had any issues with it. it still looks the same as when i bought it, not a scratch on it. when other players see it, they are always commenting on the sound and the beauty of the guitar.

Đây là guitar sản xuất hàng loạt. Loại này dùng gỗ ép 2 lớp để giảm giá thành. Vì làm đàn guitar thủ dùng gỗ nguyên tấm phải dự trữ gỗ tươi khoảng 10 năm mới làm được. Cũng lạ là bạn chơi guitar 25 năm mà không hiểu điều này.

Highly doubt that.. these people are more of an assembly line and not luthiers. I would recommend watching rob scallons video on building an acoustic guitar to see what a quality product looks like.

@@whyguy3651 Yeah, these seem more like overpriced beginner guitars. I doubt they're made all that precisely (even with all the standardized templates). Even a millimeter of fault at one end can magnify several folds on the other end.

I picked up a Crafter in 2006 for 450 bucks. Its one of my favorites even with old strings it has a brighter tone than my Gibson. Good work horse and I dont have to worry about theft or damage@@whyguy3651

Как ни странно в предыдущей стране тоже делали гитары и прочие музыкальные инструменты. У меня есть пара гитар, натянул струны и пока ещё учусь. Нынче всё это ругают, а ведь раньше были рабочие места.. А сейчас и люди уходят без работы. И ресурсы принадлежащие детям и внукам...

Wow.....what an amazing video. I was on the edge of my seat this entire time. There is a lot to say about hand made instruments, but to produce each one with the same exact metrics is over the top for quality. Kudos to this Korean team.

Awesome .. Wonderful creation. Money worth buying for the guitar with the hardwork and precision by the master crafter ....

I noticed the Crafter sign outside of the plant - I don't know how things are done now, but a while back, Samick was the largest producer of guitars in Korea; they were made generically then sent to other places (like Washburn and Hohner) to put on their labels and headstock signage. I've found S. Korean instruments to be superior to any other offshore source.

I loved watching the construction of the guitars, fascinating. The process is amazing and complex, so much work is involved, you're very skilled. I've recently purchased 5 guitars in the past two years, 4 electric and 1 acoustic guitars. I'm trying to learn and I will learn how to play even if it kills me, I'm bound and determined to play guitar before I leave this world. Thank you for the fun video!

I am a luthier hobbyist, and I found this fascinating. I usually follow the tutelage of a more hands on approach. This video showed me that a fine instrument can be mass produced. Granted, I still believe some of the process of building is better left to the old methods, I definitely see an advantage to more modern techniques.

Excellent work and consistency like a beehive. I thank every expert who works seriously, professionally and with a creative mind to produce an excellent guitar. Thanks again.

Absolutely beautiful and persistent craftsmanship throughout the process. Everyone was specifically focused on their job and it was refreshing to not hear crazy loud music and individual attitudes being displayed. Completely agree with the attention to the ability to focus on your job (I personally absolutely dislike blaring radio's in my vicinity...), but I'm not sure these people have much of a choice. I respect them greatly for the products, though! All I can hope is that they're happy.

Those thoughts never entered my mind, I was totally focused on the attention to detail that these sweet individuals were Giving to their task at hand. I enjoy the fact that they were completely focused and that there were no distractions are things going on like loud music and horseplay. And I agree, I truly hope all these wonderful people are enjoying a happy and prosperous life. They are creating such beautiful instruments for everyone around the world to appreciate and enjoy. Their craftsmanship should never be discounted are taken for granted.

Fantastic video, thank you for posting. I own a rather old Korean guitar which I've done a lot of work on over the years. Each little repair takes me hours and hours. I now have even more respect for the craftsmen and women who make these instruments and the ingenious assembly techniques they have developed.

Это не сложно, на видео обычный ширпотреб, хотя просят за гитары относительно дорого этой фирмы. Лучше посмотри, как люди делают весь процесс изготовления гитары. в ручную! Вот там СЛОЖНО!

@@new21life ИВАН приветствую ! Ну это само собой разумеется ! Разве можно сравнивать обычные бюджетные серийные музыкальные инструменты и с инструментами ручной работы прославенных мастеров ? Я и сам владею эксклюзивной гармонью полностью ручной работы одного из лучших и сильнейших Великих Нижегородских гармонных дел Мастеров , так ни одна фабричная гармонь с ней не сравнится . Но я о том , что просто раньше никогда не видел сам процесс производства гитар и мне было очень интересно это посмотреть и я не думал что это так сложно и столько всего для этого нужно .
