Acolyte FAILING, Activists COPE HARD!

Ойын-сауық

Here we have it ... Acolyte's audience score on Rotten Tomatoes plummeted to an all-time low. Leslye Headland and Kathleen Kennedy are already engaging in desperate damage control before episode 3 airs on Disney Plus. The disastrous press tour for the Acolyte was a big failure because it was led by Leslye Headland and Amandla Stenberg. We are hearing rumors of episode 3 being filled with DEI propaganda to the point where Star Wars may be damaged forever.

Star Wars was like a fine meal served at your favorite restaurant. A perfectly cooked steak, with a shot of Bourbon, or just a glass of soda, sure it had some buttery potatoes and a little salad, there was a little bit of everything a fine meal provides. Then someone smothered the steak in chocolate frosting, poured a whole jar of rainbow sprinkles on it, replaced the drink with a spinach and soy milk smoothie.. then the same person who did it tells you that the way you like dinner is wrong and that from now on dinner will be like this. Unfortunately, it seems like talent is taking a backseat to other factors. Many decision-makers today don't align with the audience's preferences, and it shows in the content. You know... the fact that Solo failed, a movie with a male white lead, proves that all those old-school Star Wars fans are NOT racist sexists. @bubsy3861 I must articulate why I believe this particular episode fundamentally alters the essence of Star Wars and not for the better. 1. Deviation from Core Themes You see, the introduction of Force-sensitive witches and the concept of the "Thread" represents a significant departure from the established lore of The Force. The dichotomy between the light and dark sides of the Force is a central pillar of the Star Wars narrative structure. By introducing these new elements, the series risks diluting the core thematic essence that has anchored the franchise for decades. This confusion can lead to a fracturing of the narrative cohesion that long-time fans have come to cherish. 2. Shallow Character Development Now, consider the characters of Mae and Osha. Their portrayal comes across as one-dimensional, with their constant bickering feeling contrived. This episode’s attempt to inject moral ambiguity through their conflict is heavy-handed and detracts from the sophisticated storytelling that Star Wars is known for. Instead of providing depth, it renders the characters less relatable and the story less engaging. True character development should reveal the complexities of human (or sentient being) nature in a manner that resonates with the audience. 3. Poor Execution of New Ideas While the introduction of new ideas is not inherently negative, the execution in this episode leaves much to be desired. The dialogue is clunky, and the plot points feel rushed and poorly conceived. The depiction of the witches and their society lacks the richness and detail that typically make Star Wars’ worlds so immersive. It feels like a squandered opportunity to expand the universe in a meaningful and engaging way. 4. Undermining the Jedi The portrayal of the Jedi in this episode appears to cast them in an uncharacteristically negative light. Historically, Star Wars has depicted the Jedi as flawed but fundamentally good. This episode’s narrative, however, seems to suggest that the Jedi are more villainous than virtuous, undermining the core identity of the franchise. This is a profound shift that alters the moral foundation upon which Star Wars is built. 5. Damage to Anakin’s Origin One of the most troubling aspects is how the episode undermines the origin story of Anakin Skywalker. Anakin’s unique birth from the Force and his role as the Chosen One are pivotal elements of the Star Wars saga. The idea that twins like Mae and Osha could be created by the Force at will disrupt this established lore. It diminishes the significance of Anakin’s birth, which was portrayed as an unparalleled event orchestrated by the Force itself, highlighting his unique destiny. 6. Changing the Nature of the Force Moreover, altering the Force to the "Thread" and depicting it as something that can be manipulated at will represents a fundamental shift in how the Force has always been understood. The Force, traditionally, is a mystical energy field that binds the galaxy together, wielded by those who have a deep, spiritual connection with it. Depicting it as a mere thread that can be easily manipulated trivializes its profound and mystical nature, which has always been a cornerstone of the Star Wars mythos. 7. Comparison with the Star Wars Holiday Special Let us draw a comparison with the much-maligned Star Wars Holiday Special. While the Holiday Special is often cited as a low point due to its poor production quality and bizarre content, it did not attempt to fundamentally alter the lore or the core themes of Star Wars. In stark contrast, The Acolyte Episode 3 makes significant changes to the foundational aspects of the Star Wars universe, which is far more detrimental. The Holiday Special might have been a misstep, but it didn’t disrupt the core narrative and character arcs that fans hold dear. While The Acolyte endeavors to introduce fresh perspectives, its execution in Episode 3 falls short. It makes changes that, in my view, are more damaging than innovative to the beloved Star Wars universe.

I am a 63 year old white man. Over the years I have heard critics say such and such a movie was bad and poorly executed yet, when I watched the show myself, I found that I like it. I have also experienced not liking something the critics adored. Everyone has their personal taste. That taste is based solely on one's personal likes and dislikes. The old Apple Jacks commercial comes to mind; "We know what we like". Just because you like something, does not mean I will also like it. Just because you don't like something, does not mean I will also not like it. Calling me a racist because I don't like a movie you are the lead character in; is the best way to insure I never watch a movie that you are the lead character in. Telling me I have no choice but to like your show is the same thing as calling me a slave that has no opinion. That is a very stupid thing to say to a hard core, slavery is evil and must not be allowed, American. The only reason I could ever be required to watch and like a movie I otherwise would neither watch nor like, is if I was a slave. I am not a slave and I neither need, nor have to watch a movie. If you don't understand the simple basic fact that a free man is entitle to refuse to watch a show you are the lead character in, you have no business being in show business.

They really are as predictable as the sunrise at this point. They turn out a pile of hot, steaming garbage as entertainment, and when people hate it, accuse them of being "toxic" and calling them -ists and -phobes. And shows like this are hot steaming garbage, because telling a good story about interesting and relatable characters has taken a backseat to making characters self-inserts for the leftist writers, and advancing The Message. The irony is, you _could_ make movies and TV shows with gay characters, non-white characters, female characters, that are great. People have been doing that for decades. But you can't do that if you prioritize ideology over entertainment. People want to be _entertained,_ not scolded, preached to, propagandized, or indoctrinated.

And continues to be an overlapping issue that they will just play the victim over n over and blame blame blame! People are waking up to the games these directors and controllers are shovelling into our eyes n ears and the just consistently tell everyone that they are wrong and we are right, thinking if they say it enough, it’s true. But, I’m ranting, I love star wars, and these people are tarnishing the brand and literally are trying to mess it up on purpose. That’s one of two explanations I have come up with. The other is that they are trying to mind control children under ten so that they will believe these beliefs and have some kind of 1% raise in the already 1% population. I hope u understand what I mean and I don’t have to explain this. lol. What a messsssssssssss this show is. If you've played Grand Theft Auto Vice City, there's a Civil Asset Mission, where you take over an Ice Cream business where the Ice Cream was a front for drug operations. The old lady in the scene when you buy the business hated children and said "Mommy doesn't love you, she hates you!" That's what I'm reminded of, of Leslye Headland and her lesbian mothers giving "Spice Cream" to kids.
