Ever considered that Qimir as the Sith Lord is a red herring? And that the sith Lord is the one who wants the 4 Jedi dead and Mae's revenge is just a convenient way to kill them without showing his hand. Killing Kellnaca by himself while Mae is on her way seems suspect. But Qimir feeling Mae's hesitation over the task might have something to do with that. But still, why does the Sith Lord want those 4 specific Jedis dead? Plus, it's not clear if Master Sol is the 4th Jedi. We are just under the assumption that he is because of Mae. Because Sol seems very upstanding. But what event could have caused Kellnaca to seek solitude in the forest and Master Torbin to retreat into that deep meditation?

All I was looking forward to was a Wookie bad ass Jedi battle that involved some force skills and brute strength… FROM A WOOKIE!!! Nope. Offscreen death. Cinema Sin. I don’t care if they show it in the next episode. I feel robbed.

No Qimir is a reference to the Khmer people of Cambodia. Although the actor Manny Jacinto is Filipino.

Qimir has to be the Sith in the forest, no one else makes sense. He's the only one who knew Mae intended to scrap the plan and turn herself in. There's no other reason for someone other than Mae to kill the Jedi, unless it's to stop Mae from turning herself in and revealing the Sith plot.

I struggle with the time for him to be hanging in the tree, get down and change clothes, stealth through every trap set, kill a giant Wookiee Jedi master, get in the forest and fly?? I’m leaning towards it being the mother we didn’t see amongst the dead?

One thing that I’m not a big fan of is when Disney+ was first coming out it was said all Star Wars show would be between 45-55 minutes long episodes and sadly they still have not done that. I wished they were more like the length of the max or Netflix shows that each episode in 50+ minutes. This episode I believe was only 28 minutes long.

His bag is definitely big enough to hide his costume I think his dark side is a dissociative identity, the reason he’s never seen his master’s face is because his master doesn’t have a face - just an alternate identity who may have saved him when it came out to protect itself, that’s why he owes him

I feel like he is under mays control actually like there is a game happening here that the Jedi never saw coming. At this point perhaps may who is looking on at them all fighting is in control and Q is a pawn perhaps even dead as she uses the body to fight the Jedi. Or it’s just Q and he’s a super creepo. My theory about the masked sith is that they designed that character to resemble a puppet. Watch the scenes again, the movement, and look at the design of the mask. Perhaps this sith is just the apprentice, or even just a pawn, and there is another sith master (possibly qimir)

I think covering up this interaction with the Sith goes a LONG way to help make the case that the Jedi Order is losing it's focus on what they should be focusing on thus allowing the Sith to come back ointo power 100 years later. For me it does NOT retcon canon it strengthens the story of the fall of the Jedi. IMO.

Remember she was the one going right to violence all the time. It's likely she killed the coven using the poison which is why they were just in a pile like that with no marks on them. She then when to go grab her daughters after but was to late and only got to Mae. I would think that would be obvious if she is alive. It will be the twins acting together to defeat her, it's the point of the whole scene with the training of the two attacking the one and shown to be almost a match. This show telegraphs things from a mile away. Even back in episode 3 they showed her looking at the power bank that later exploded. The show writers are not subtle at all.

Another way around the plot hole is if its not a "sith" and instead its a "witch". could be the one mom that survived

I still suspect Mother Koril is the big bad... she has motive and was absent from the "fire" and dead coven. Hard to dispute that Qimir is Darth Zipperface at this point but I think he's the apprentice not the master. The whole revenge plot against these 4 specific Jedi goes beyond Mae's arc. Even when Mae said she had no reason to kill them, Qimir reminded her that the master wanted them dead. Why would the master want them specifically dead and not just every Jedi if it wasn't personal?

I was thinking it was the Main with mother. What is Qimir's reasoning for wanting to have those specific 4 Jedi killed; the same 4 Jedi that ruined the witches plans with the twins and ultimately was the reason behind it being burned down because Mae only tried to kill her because she didn't want her to leave with the Jedi. Also when Mother witch was laying on the ground, during the fire, she was never confirmed dead. Sol wouldn't allow Osha to fully check on her while they were attempting to leave. It also makes sense that when the Sith floated down behind Osha, she slowly walked up to within inches of her and looked directly at her for a moment like a mother who hadn't seen her presumed dead daughter in 16yrs. Then when she ignited her red light saber, she didn't just kill Osha while within inches of her. If Sith are truly evil, why not kill her. She force pushed her to the side. Another thing was when the mother witch was showing Osha and Mae "the power of one"(as she force pushed one person), "the power of two" (as she then force pushed 2 people) and then she ended it with "you will soon see the power of many" (which we never see her force push multiple people at once, but that appears to be exactly what the masked sith did when he force pushed the 8 jedi charging with their light sabers.) I think Qimir's made to look like the obvious choice as a cliff hanger. Also the front of the Sith clothes are very baggie; just enough to potentially hide "breast". If you guys look at that scene again on a big screen the hands that force pushed everyone appeared to be a "black person's" hand; the complexion very similar to Osha's. I know its set in the dark, but on a 65" TV or larger you can clearly see the hands and they appear to be a black person's hands. One last clue on Episode 3 at the 8:54 mark, the mother witch appears to have on a similar elongated bracelet to the one the Sith has when he force pushes the Jedi.

I think Qimir is most likely the apprentice to whoever the sith master is. And by surrendering to the Jedi, Mae can get close and kill Sol.

Don't forget Master HOLDEN was sent to the planet before the search party got there.

My son thinks he's cracked it. Sith is Mother Koril, you never see her body. She black eyed Mae to set the fire, she looks totally out of it before the fire and looks like she's woken up from a dream at the end of Ep3. She blacked eyed Torbin again to murder the witch coven. Kelnacca tries to stop him and they fight, Torbin is blinded and scarred as you can see in the background when they're on the ship and he snaps out of his trance and can't live with his guilt.

If you look at Darth Smilo Ren's fingers as he force pushes Osha away, he has pretty thick fingers, bigger fingernails that covers almost the entire tip of the fingers. I believe Qimir's finger/nail shape is the same, and his fingers were dirty as well, probably in a rushed attempt to get himself out of the trap???

Given the series' setting around 100 BBY, it is plausible that the Sith with the red lightsaber could represent a younger Darth Plagueis, known for his obsession with cheating death and manipulating midi-chlorians to create life. Plagueis' quest for immortality could easily tie into the dark rituals and mysteries explored in "The Acolyte." His interactions with Mae and Osha could provide insights into his growing power and philosophy. Acting under the orders of his master, Darth Tenebrous, adds layers of complexity and intrigue. I can’t see the dude hanging in the tree being able to get down from the tree, get changed into sith gear, stealth through every trap set, kill the giant Wookiee Jedi master and get far enough into the forest to make that entrance….but the Jedi did arrive at the Wookiee’s at the same time even though they managed a stop off!!

If you rewatch this episode, look at what Qimir is putting in his bag. Right after his ship lands, there is a wipe and Mae and Qimir are packing for their trek. He puts a Black Cylindrical thing in his bag after he takes a quick look at it. It's maybe a second. It looks very similar to the red lightsaber at the end of the episode. Also after he and Mae stop. He runs off to get water, he takes his bag with him. Pretty Sure Qimir is Darth Smiles. I wonder if there isn't going to be a twist that Darth Smiles is the Apprentice and there is another Bigger Bad in the shadows. Like a Darth Frowns.

She was not using a weapon & trying to get the jedi's lightsabers cuz she wants to bleed the crystal after killing one of them right? It the ritual. Also, it would be Darth Tenebrus pulling the strings overall.. right?

Another possibility is that by the time phantom menace comes around, Ki Adi Mundi now finally realizes that it was probably a sith all those years ago, but there’s no point admitting now that he was part of a cover up not telling the council back then. So he leans into it saying, no way they’ve been gone a thousand years. He was at least slightly corrupt in this time to not tell the council, so why either he still be and not want to out himself in phantom menace.

Because that’s not how we’ve been told and or shown how Jedi act, although we’ve seen some bad eggs like general krell the Jedi are very alike to one another who hold honor and holding out that information just to save your own skin is something sith would do, even in the few episodes we get more from him in the second battle of geonosis, his character does not seem to be someone who would hide something that big

I think Vernestra Rwoh is the Sith Lord. She keeps trying to prevent Master Sol from continuing on this mission, doesn't want The Senate to know, and originally thought Osha did it and wanted her on Coruscant. Also going to Khofar allows her to strike without being noticed by others.

Sol is the last left and we need to see him explain what really happened to the coven. Qimir is definitely the acolyte and this masked sith. Will be interesting to see how this progresses. Qimir is totally the masked sith with the lightsabers. I think they want it to be sort of obvious for us as the viewer.

I don't think the writers even know, you're given them too much credit, it probably wasn't designed around lore but more what looks cool.

Ki-Adi-Mundi might be part of the coverup. His answer seemed awful quick. I always thought that line was delivered in a very suspicious way. We saw Yoda and Mace do the same thing in the Clone Wars.

19:00 this scene reminded me of when Osha meets Qimir in the shop on Olega during episode two 🤔

I honestly thought it was a bad Ki Adi Mundi apperance.. If they bring back a known Jedi, why not just use him as the protagonist. If they were going for "easteregg" Ki Adi Mundi- they should have brought him in at the end of the episode! For REAL Star Wars fans, it was really just an annoying "cameo". We KNOW about Mundi, why not use that fans service positive!

I think we really need to let the season play out before we question all the plot holes

I started the episode and went and filled a glass of ice tea. Sat down and it was the ending credits. That was an insanely short episode.

Qimir is the masked apprentice, Mae is the Acolyte. The real master hasn't been revealed yet. The whole series story hinges on what the motives of the Sith master really are. That is yet to be revealed although my theory would be the creation of the twin sisters and their true purpose. Beings immaculately conceived through the force was an ability coveted by the Sith and known to the Jedi as part of the prophecy to bring balance to the force. It's possible that the birth of the twins creates the original imbalance (a shift in the force referred to by the Jedi on Coruscant) that leads to the fall of the Jedi while Anakin's birth leads to the restoration.

Its yin yang spiralling, like may and osha going round from light to dark and dark to light, while getting closer to each other. Maybe even in the end two become one somehow…

Qmir also mentioned Sol to get under Mae's skin .... but the look Mae's face leads me to believe she never told him Sol's name

That force push is outrageous. 1 single sith pushing that many jedi that easy is obsurd. That display of difference in power should’nt have been writen into the story. If a sith is that powerful why bring out your saber. These writers are killing a entire franchise’s storyline.

I disagree, I think the use of the force against the Jedi there isn’t a difference in power but difference of use of the force. These Jedi have been a peace for so long they’ve forgotten how to fight against another force user (for lack of a better word but it’s like a bully who got hit in the face for the fist time by a trained fighter)

I will admit it did lose me for a few minutes, then I thought, the jedi hadn't fought a sith in thousand years, and didn't even know what they was, so how would they know how to fight one, and expect the power difference the dark side gives.

Probably because those Jedi are weak and out of practice. It's like how the Clone Troopers on the Bad Batch could massacre droids but had trouble fighting other clones and bounty hunters

Yes by this point the rule of 2 would have made the current sith stronger than any Jedi save Yoda. But above video also implies that hes using a dark side artifact on his wrist to boost his power.

I’ve wondered about the destruction of the coven. Is it possible that a Sith Lord influenced the birth of the twins? How did Mae survive and meet her master? Is Chimir really a bumbling opportunist who killed a shop owner, made poison for Mae and happened to hunt down a Wookiee Jedi in a death trap of a forrest or maybe he’s the true acolyte?

I'm surprised that no one has noticed that Rena Owen has an uncredited cameo.

I am going with Mother Aniseya or Koril as the Stranger. More towards Aniseya even Koril has a strong vendetta against the Jedi. Always two but what if Aniseya went 180 from light side to darkside leading to that unexpectedly surprise. Qimir is kind of the red herring. Koril definitely has a strong hatred to the Jedi but sometimes they always want to change it up. It's the usual suspects they are pulling off in The Acolyte. Also the actress who plays Koril Margarita Levieva will appear in Daredevil: Born Again as a love interest to Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock.

Episode 6 is it me or did Mae and Osha switch spits and no one in the show except the tracker realize it?

Charlie what do you think of the theory of Witches coven practicing both the light and dark side force, but as you know there was a Mortis god that went insane she was called the "Mother" and she practiced both the light and dark sides of the force. What if the Witches Coven was trying to bring her back.

A theory that just came to me: if he/she is an actual Sith Lord (Darth Tenebrous, judging by their physical appearance - Darth Plagueis just doesn't fit the look/height, at least in the legends), then the helmet they use could have been what inspired Darth Sidious when it came to creating Darth Vadar's helmet. Both helmets have much different, yet similar look IMO. If the Sith turns out to be a non-Sith, then it will kill the series for me, which already started off very weak.

At this stage, I think it is not IF Qimir is the man in the mask, it is whether he is the master or the apprentice. I am leaning towards apprentice. It his task to defeat the Jedi without drawing a weapon. His weapon is Mae. Behind the scene, pulling the strings, just like a Sith. He is the titular character.

I did wonder if that Ki Adi Mundi in those scenes. Who knows how long lived that race is. There's definitely something up with Qimir, there's definitely more to him than appearances.

No, there definitely is a retcon its being changed. Because it's not just his age being changed, it's the lifespan of that race entirely.. Just willy nilly changing existing lore to fit lazy writing

Maybe I just like storytelling and letting a plot breathe…I’m digging this show…I think people don’t have patience anymore…I’m used 2 reading 1,000 page books so I don’t mind a slow burn…best things come 2 those who wait

Hey Unc, your vids convinced me to try posting my own SW content and gaming and I made it into the YT Partner Program! Thx for all the vids over the years! I thought this episode was decent. The only thing that gives me pause is how their isn't a lore nerd on set to check creators. This show occurs years before Ki-Adi-Mundi was even born. I saw a clip of a creator checking wookiepedia right after the episode dropped and it said Mundi was born in 93BBY and died in 19BBY. Then checked again after 15 minutes and the site was updated to add 40 years to Mundi's life to explain how he could appear in this episode, when he wasn't born yet. That is wild to me. That is the kind of thing that makes me nervous with Disney Star Wars.

Charlie 5:55 I don't think that she is implying Sith it seems they dont know much about the existence at this point. Remember in the convo with Sol and master Vanestera when she says she thinks that May has been trained by someone who was Jedi (either former or even scarier maybe current). While the Dark side of the force groups are known it seems that this idea of "Sith" is not yet known of amongst the Jedi, which is why nobody in the meeting mentions such (could be wrong just a theory).

I’ve been thinking a lot about how it could be possible that the force witches were actually being hunted by the Sith? And the Jedi lead them to the witches and that’s why the bodies don’t looked burned but they were cut down by the Sith master/apprentice and if qimir does have mind whipping abilities then it explains why sol doesn’t remeber surviving

I know the last episode and some scenes on this episode made plenty of fans upset due to lore and stuff, I appreciate the information and understanding from your videos. I listen to star wars theory and he males great points from his connection of being a fan of star wars lore and story, however it's mostly negative opinions. You at least give information about why this happen and I appreciate it so much. I love star wars and I want the show to learn from it's mistakes and build on it and make a good acolyte series

I really appreciate that you can be critical without being nasty and ripping everything apart. Love your videos! I’m looking forward to more. Yeaaahhh show is not perfect, but i’m enjoying the mystery, hoping the next episode is awesome.

If Charlie expresses any criticism in real time (and not in some kind of retrospective video after it’s finished airing) it’s usually a pretty good sign he’s not too keen on it. But I could be wrong. He’s a verrry charitable and patient breakdown guy

I believe the controversial ness of it is what you said that mundi is the Jedi that says they haven’t been around for 1000s of years but yet he very clearly knows now that mai has some sort of master

The other Jedi suggested she has a master. He seems in doubt of her abilities other than that she is skilled.

The other option is that MUNDI is lying in the prequels for some reason we haven’t gotten to yet in this series

With all the venom about this series, it’s great to hear a well thought out breakdown.

I know most people believe Qimir is the Master. Most signs seem to point to Qimir. However, I noticed one detail that goes against the theory. In the show description, it says a Jedi Master is pitted against "a dangerous warrior from his past." If Sol and the Master were once aquainted, it couldn't be Qimir. They've already been face-to-face in episode 2...

This surface scratch killed the jedi wookie, but being shafted through the chest is survivable?

That cliffhanger should get them arrested tbh. Whole bunch of boring for 2 episodes straight and then they stop when it gets interesting

Didn’t watch it, just listened to this instead of giving view time to Disney. Seems better than episode 3 (not hard), but seeing the Ki-Adi Mundi stuff… the writers either don’t care about the established lore, or are purposely trying to annoy long-time fans (which the disney era fans love to see for some reason), and its certainly not enough to pull me back in, will try again with Ahsoka season 2
