@@63chicago6 actually not even on Fox, light could've flick SDI'd after every jab so it couldve pushed him away from the jab barrage. Light just sucks at SDI'ing, since Fox just falls out of combos most of time due to his fast fall.

this is the first smash game where characters cant just zero to death you with chain grabs based on who youre playing. Only ONE MU in the game being super losing cause of a free zero to death like that is actually is pretty new actually. And its not like the MU is even -3 or smth. Besides this jab the chars go pretty even so its -1 at most. Also the jab thing only works at low percentages so the fox needs to play like vs Luigi at low percents to not die.

TBH I think light was the better player on this match, it is frustrating to watch how he lost 2 stocks of single jabs. Sometimes I get why Steve gets banned from tournaments.

A single terrible matchup doesnt make Steve banworthy. This is the first game where characters cant just chain grab zero to death you based on the character youre playing. Also Fox Steve isnt even that terrible its only -1 cause besides the jab across stage theyre pretty evenly matched. IF AT ALL. Saying Steve wins the MU cause he can jab you to death off of grab is like saying Luigi wins every match up in the game. Play to avoid it at low percents and then youre gucci.

It looks like it’s time to just support tournaments that are banning Steve. Players and spectators should be voting with their wallets and TO’s that allow this to go on are letting the game die like with bayo, at least her combos were kind of flashy this is just sad.

Steve players = dishonorable players.

Does anyone else feel like Acola was off after the Umeki set and the controller issues he had? He looked like he was playing because he had too, not because he wanted to. He barely tried to camp against Sonix and Ken, he held forward and hoped for the best. Against Light, he was just fishing for the jab over and over, like a lot more than he usually does against Fox. Against Miya, he was playing slower than usual, and he randomly played Aegis and played her far more poorly than he usually does. I'm not saying Acola would have gotten more than third place even if he was playing with passion, Sonix and Miya were on another level that day, but yeah honestly he worries me.

His tag has been miserable since Saturday and he used it in friendlies vs Deathspade. So he was playing off all weekend.

I know it looks like Acola cheesed him, but I've got to give Acola credit. He didn't need to figure out Light, he just needed to figure out Fox. He knew exactly what rhythm to mash jab depending on what materials he had. He felt comfortable spamming low commitment moves because he knew the cost-benefit ratio was practically always in his favor, regardless of percent. Path of Least Resistance. The quickest way to an point is a straight line.

Acola's smarter than Light because he picks the easier, more powerful character. Its a tournament. You should be trying to win. Light having to outplay Acola twice as hard is a product of his poor character choice.

Ban Steve. Light deserved that win. Acola is amazing with Steve, but not good enough to beat Light with a character that is fair. That walking across the stage shit with jab to instant spike death around 30 is just bullshit. And it happened what 3 times? Yeah that shit takes the life out the game. That set with Light against Kaninabe was the shit tho.

That combo is Fox-exclusive because of how fast he falls. All other characters get out of it pretty easily. It sure sucks for this specific match-up but it's in no way a reason to ban an entire character.

Getting mad about Steve here is easy, but it's not entirely Steve's fault. He shouldn't be able to kill Fox off 1 jab, but he CAN and Light KNOWS that. He needs to adapt and pick up a secondary with a better matchup.

Acola does not have any my respect and its for steve, he knows that he is carried by the character, perhaps it would be acceptable if he used it because he likes the character but that is not the case and to prove it just look his secondary characters, he is a pure carrying character The most powerful warrior is not the one who wins by having the most powerful weapon but by his mastery in the fight I fell bad for acola he seems to be a nice persona but it is what it is
