ACL Rehab after Surgery Week 2: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fWhspNKIotned6g.html
Thanks for the video. Thats the first rehabs program for the first week after surgery? Just rest and doing this work? Thanks for answer!
I did Meniscus repair and acl reconstruction surgery. Can I work on this program? This my 6th weeks where Dr allow me to put weight on my knee
If I suture the meniscus, is the same method used?
Hi is it not risky to stand up o bought legal ?
What the hell??? You cannot hang your legs in the air in the fist weeks!! Also I cannot find any excercises I can do in the first days after surgery. These are like for 1 week after surgery, most of these excercise are impossible to do in the first days due to extreme pain and weak muscle feeling. Maybe that one with the towel and straight leg lifting but only with belt assistance. Its impossible to do without belt so early. Sometimes I wonder if you guys that recommed those excercises that early had their acl torn?

You are quite right it may be impossible to do some of the exercises for some people. However, have come across many people that can perform an active straight leg raise in the first week post ACL and lots of people who need 4 weeks. It’s also mentioned to perform inner range quads fully before performing an active straight leg raise. These exercises are a guide and everyone will go at their own pace. I would recommend not attacking others and being polite when commenting on other people’s content. Would you be this confrontational face to face?

Additionally, google ‘ACL protocol’ and educate yourself before attacking others. The first three I found suggested an active straight leg raise within 0-7 or 0-10 day timeframe if able to perform.

@@sportrehabguide Attacking? Ofc I would say the same face to face and even more. People may hurt themselves doing some of that stuff in the first days after surgery. Its written everywhere that first excercises should be done in closed kinematic chain. If you make a video you need to divide those excercises into groups which can be done directly after surgery, and which (depending on condition) should be done in 7 days after sugery or even 2 weeks. To close Id like to say that there are countless videos on youtube that recommend simmilar excercises. Many people seek help in those first crucial days and what they get is not clear enough information, that may lead to stretching or damaging new acl. First days its all about basics that its hard to find anywhere, maybe you will find it as a good idea for a new video.

@@sportrehabguide Im talking about prone extension hangs not leg raises. Its forbidden to do it shortly after surgery. Later ofc. There should be just a mention that its not a „first week excercise”. Leg raises are also impossible to do for most patients after the surgery and can be done only with a belt. Why im telling you that? Because im 3 days after surgery and I was forced in pain to do that excercise while I should be slowly rebuilding my knee. Now I signed somewhere else.

I'm able to do most of these exercises 3 days post-op from ACL reconstruction with allograft and meniscus repair. I cannot do the knee flexion though. Thanks for this video!
LEO Y Yazmin.❤❤
I don't understand how it's possible for people to do these exercises in their first week post-op. I had ACL surgery 5 days ago and i can barely move it, especially bend it. Straightening it in bed is quite good (there's no space between back of knee and bed) but I definitely cannot hyper-extend as shown in the video nor can I flex my quad. Is this psychological and I actually can or is it different for everyone? Just looking at these exercises my pain increased.

Everyone’s recovery will be different. Video is purely a guide and obviously not being demo’d on a true ACL surgery. If you check out ACL protocols, these exercises will be on it. It’s demonstrating what the patient should be aspiring to. A pro footballer’s recovery will look a lot different to an amateur footballer that’s been waiting 6 months for surgery and done no rehab pre surgery. Check the recovery on this player after day 3 demonstrating no issues with inner range quads exercise: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lnif2c5veqfXfJM.htmlsi=Sb5nNNd4KJFdp7aD

@@sportrehabguide I see, thank you. Should I be worried if after a week im able to do none of this?

@zkturing unable to comment on your personal circumstance. From experience if I had a patient at week one who was struggling with mobility I wouldn’t be panicking.

I am 1 1/2 week post-op and I am not able to lift my leg or do as much shown in this video. Straightening is fairly easy .
Are these excersises good also for general knee ligament pain?!?! I didn't tear my acl i just do lots of basketball and athletic and probably I've strained it!!! It hurts honestly i don't know what's the problem..

@@bitz3225I just got surgery 2 weeks ago. Highly recommend an ice compression machine, my insurance for me a machine called therma zone. The first week and a half after surgery it’s Fkn miserable man. Everything hurts, everything’s swollen, it sucks. After week 2 a lot of my swelling went down and I was able to start these exercises . Good luck on your surgery man

i got given these same exercises by my pt after surgery last week. the booklet provided says every hour, but my pt suggested every 2/3 hours, basically as much as you can handle without swelling or causing issue
can anyone do these in week 1 post op??!

No not everyone but some can. These are however low level exercises that you’ll find on ACL protocols all over the internet.
I can't lift my leg by 1 inch is it normal because I am on day 14? Please answer.

Little & often with week 1. Usually give a round number like 10 or 15 reps few times a day. Overall it really doesn’t matter as long the patient is working on terminal knee extension and it’s improving alongside flexion
