Ackman, Rubenstein on Markets, Money and More
Jun.22 -- Bill Ackman, Founder and Portfolio Manager of Pershing Square Capital Management, sits down David Rubenstein, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Chairman of The Carlyle Group, for a wide-ranging conversation on the state of the markets and the next big bet.

David Rubenstein's initial comments on the importance of sound asset diversification and risk management cannot be overstated. I've been trying to grow my portfolio to $100,000 for some time and would welcome any other suggestions.

Ackman doesn't list fed QE, and govt bailouts as a reason the stock market has rallied, when it's obvious this is the main reason. Without support from fed & govt we would be down 50+%

Yes and no you pay monthly premiums but can sell your policies at any time. He sold out after 1 month. It’s like buying fire insurance on your house, paying 1 mo premium and it burns down a week later. Versus paying for 5 years and it burning down on year 5. That’s why his returns were so high versus the big short where they had to hold the cds from 06-08 and even had to close part of their position to pay redemptions. They even stopped filling redemptions towards the end
