जिन लोगों के पेट में ज़ख्म होती है, या ड्यूडिनल अल्सर होता है उनमें भी एसिडिटी होती है। लेकिन उन
लोगों की तकलीफ कुछ और ही होती है। वो कहते हैं हमारे पेट में दर्द होता है और पेट में जो दर्द है वह
खाली पेट रहने से होता है, कुछ खा लेने से आराम महसूस हो जाता है।
छाती में जलन होती है या पेट में उपर के हिस्से में जलन होती है और हमें ऐसा लगता है कि छाती से कुछ
चीज़ ऊपर आ रही है, आहार नली में आ रही है। मेडिकल टर्म्स में इसे हम गैस्ट्रोएसोफेगल
रिफ्ल्क्स डिसीज़ कहते हैं। कुछ लोगों की आदत होती है मुंह से पेट का गैस निकालने की, जिसे हम बेल्चिंग
कहते हैं। और जिन लोगों को इस बेल्चिंग की आदत पड़ जाती है उनमें एसिडिटी की तकलीफ ज़्यादा ही
होती है। दूसरा, जो लोग मोटे होते हैं उन्हें एसिडिटी की समस्या ज़्यादा होती है। तीसरा, ऐसे लोग जो
नियमित रुप से शराब (अल्कोहॉल) का सेवन करते हैं उन्हें यह समस्या होती है। इसके बाद, जो लोग खाना
खाने के बाद तुरंत बिस्तर में लेट जाते हैं उन्हें एसिडिटी की ज़्यादा तकलीफ महसूस होती है। लाक्षणिक
सुधार करने के लिए हमारे पास प्रोटोन पंप इन्हिबिटर्स दवाई है। कुछ मरीज़ों को रोज़ाना प्रोटोन पंप
इन्हिबिटर्स दे दीजिए। कुछ मरीज़ हैं जो कहेंगे कि डॉक्टर साहब दवाई से आराम नहीं हो रहा है। तो उन्हें
प्रोटोन पंप इन्हिबिटर्स दवाई तो लेनी ही है इसके साथ में प्रोकाइनेटिक दवाई को भी मिला कर एक बार
लेना है। कुछ ऐसे मरीज़ हो सकते हैं जो कहेंगे इन दोनों दवाईयों से भी मुझे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ रहा है, तो
ऐसे मरीज़ों को हम कहते हैं आप म्यूकेन जेल या डायजीन जेल ले लीजिए। इस तरह हम कुछ दवाई साथ में
लेने के लिए कहते हैं। लेकिन जिन लोगों की तकलीफ लगातार जारी रहती है उनमें आहार नली की स्थिति
असामान्य हो सकती है। इसे हाइटस हर्निया कहा जाता है और इसमें रिफ्लक्स की परेशानी होती रहेगी।
जब ऐसे मरीज़ हमारे पास आते हैं तो हम देखते हैं कि उनके लक्षण लगातार जारी है तो उन्हें हम
एँडोस्कोपी कराने की सलाह देते हैं। इस प्रकार एँडोस्कोपी में उनकी बीमारी का निदान हाइटस हर्निया के
रुप में हो जाता है।

खाना खाने के बाद तुरंत पानी मत पीयो कम से कम 40मिंटो के बाद पानी पियो कभी एसिडिटी नहीं होगा ।
