    I'd love to achieve Achilles' level someday. Dude is late to work, no one scolds him for it and when he finally arrives (late) at work everyone cheers for him. That's a badass level. Worst of all is that he doesn't even care, he takes his time preparing.

  • @TheDrexxus

    @TheDrexxus

    5 жыл бұрын

    Swords and shields were very light, they wouldn't be much use if they were too heavy to hold for hours on end while fighting with them. Roman soldiers used to practice with fakes made of wood that were twice as heavy as their real equipment so they'd be conditioned better for using the real thing, but yeah swords and shields don't weigh much. The shields are also very light, being primarily made of wood and leather with just a very thin layer of bronze in there to make it sturdier.

    James Passmore very cool to read your comment my friend. Did you know that for the Romans it was more honorable to act and live like Hector than it was Achilles? They respected Hectors life style more because he fought more for his family and country and Achilles mostly fought for just the fame and honor. I'm not saying that Achilles wasn't admired by the ancient Romans, I'm just implying that they were taught to live the Hector life more.

    Caesar wept for he had not achieved much at 40 compared to Alexander... but Alexander was given the greatest army in the world and a kingship. Caesar had to work his way up through the complex political spheres of Rome, which took a lot more time and was just as dangerous as leading any army.

    Great fight scene. It is perfect calculation. Initially he runs slow judging the movement speed of opponent, then he throws the shield to lure him for another strike.He increases the running speed to not allow him get out his sword to defend eventually. Still have to analyze hector vs achilles. It was more of the stamina utilization fight. They had fantastic fight choreographer for this movie.

  • @fredfredburger5150

    @fredfredburger5150

    3 жыл бұрын

    The fight choreographer for the movie stated that anytime Achilles fights he is fighting with fate on his side. He's fighting 1,2,3 moves ahead because he already knows (through fate) what the opponent will do next. Achilles isn't using any particular cool or effective martial arts style in the fight scenes, he's simply fighting how someone would fight if they already knew what their opponent would do next before they did it.

    Really? Doesn't take much to please you, then, does it? It's an OK flick, but the acting is horrendous, and the dialogue is cliched, SUPER corny and quite pretentious. The fight scenes and cinematography are top notch which, of course, is what brings me here. The "Is there no one else", is so clearly a takeaway of the much superior Gladiator's "are you not entertained?!"
