Very true! I was born and raised in Galway next to the shore. My parents would take me to all the remote places in Connemara, Aran islands, Achill island for walks as well as lots of other counties.It was only when I left Ireland with work that i realised how much I took for granted

My nana and grandfather are buried in the cemetery by the deserted village and every Christmas Day I have a whisky with them. A very special place dear to my heart and can’t wait to go back 🇮🇪 Dia dhaoibh

This area of northwestern Ireland has a real rugged beauty and it is not overrun with tourists. Nevermind the grey skies, it is Irland after all!

Who else is here after watching "The Banshees of Inisherin"? This Island is so beautiful and after watching the movie I wish to go there.

This beautiful little island is where my great great great grandpa lived before he fled to america due to the famine!

My great grandparents came from here ❤

Really acill iselands are so much beautiful.

Ha ha that is a lot of sheep noise. I have never heard of Achill Island before. Lokos absolutely lovely though and solem. Fun dog at the airbnb.

Keel is where my 3 uncles were born .Sadly l passed away from a tractor accident. I uncle died 3 years ago aged 89years and his younger brother died 1year ago .All my 4 cousins still live here in Auchterarder .They are all married now with children of there own .The eldest is 70 years old the youngest is 60. now There are 3 boys @ 1 girl..GODBLESS them all. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

The views are unbelievable! And wow, that deserted village... actually got goosebumps. I'm dying to go to Ireland!

HBN , if you get the chance go to Curracloe , the beach is amazing and at one end you have the forest at Raven point where you can look across to Wexford town . The videos on KZread won’t do it any justice . Pack some food and a flask , it is awesome .

This really was “a chill” island. Haha. The sheep are so loud! Also like the ruins of the deserted village.

Been to Achill many times, that village alone is worth the trip. Agreed that it's as beautiful as any other Ireland coastal region with less than half the people. Don't forget there is also kayaking and surfing close by - and the town of Mulranny is a delight. Thanks for posting !

I'm just watching this as I'm sitting in a hollyday cottage in keel. Its as beautiful as he makes it out to bee, and even more when the sun it out, like right now. And, like I have to remind my family over and over, we might be in Ireland, but still put sin screen on, you'll need it.

Well done! As a first Irish decedent American, I was able to visit Achill Island in 2005. Your video gives a great overview of the rugged area of Ireland.

I really love your videos and your sense of humor. Such a great balance of fun vlog shots, cinematic shots and an over view of where to go and what to see. As for my favorite part I’d have to say Slievemore because the ruins looked so unique and peaceful but the ocean and beach is a close second. 😀

Irish living in Canada 🇨🇦. It’s true what they say you don’t appreciate what you have until you leave it. Haven’t been home in 4 years and I miss it dearly. I am planning my next trip and after seeing your video Achill is definitely going to be on it. Great video thank you 🙏🏻

So beautiful! We JUST returned from Ireland but didn't get to get north of the cliff of moher. This brought back memories of the scenic coastal roads we did get to drive through. The whole countryside is so pretty!!

The Journey there's stunning views all over Ireland, but I think this one was pretty special. Even better that there was nobody else there

I couldn't stop myself from laughing at 1:57 when the sheep looked up when you started talking, it's like it understood you. :D The island looks wonderful. It looks like a quiet island, and seems very local (without a huge impact on the environment from tourism).

We have friends in Ireland so we visited a few times but we never knew about Achill Island (even tho the wind we remember quite well! :D). The free shuttle bus sounds like a great idea for when you want to drink and you can't drive home!

What a beautiful place! I've never been to Ireland and I really want to go. Lately I've been obsessed with tropical Southeast Asia travel locations but I really hope to come back to Europe for some traveling! What an amazing view from the top. The statue of Mary was cool too! Great video, I love all the animals and the beach!

Never heard of this Island but it's surely one place I would love to explore. I love Ireland. The view is incredible from up the hill! These Sheeps are everywhere - they walked on the road like they own it. AirBnB with a dog? awesome! Haha. I love it how ruins are on every random place in Ireland. Great vid!

It's definitely a place for inspiration!

We did a part of the Wild Atlantic Way last year, but didn't make it to Achill Island. Definitely a reason to come back to Ireland. Your ttitle transitions are so cool! The guiness is great, but the Murpheys aren't bad either. Great great video!

Ahh nice to see the places where i have been already. I live in Ireland i can definitely say that the county sides in these country is beyond expectation. Well said about the ships lol. It look like you have been there in winters or on cold cloudy day but the island looks out of this world when the sun is out and when its warm.

keem bay is fantastic! we climped up the cliff to the western side, where the ruins of an old lost house, an old viewing point/spotting point from ww2, stand. the view was unbelievable, a spot for your heart. :) best greets from germany!

Cool! And well done. I know Scotland fairly well but I've never had the pleasure of visiting Ireland. I have thought about it though, and looked around on maps a bit. County Mayo never came up in the picture - you've changed my mind.

Been in Ireland last year for a couple days, but in the different place (Dublin). These spectacular views remain me Hawks walk. Guinness is good as well, I still remember a visit to its Museum in Dublin.

Most english people really like the irish, history is in the past and we arent the same people as those who lived in the imperial age

There are more sheep than humans on this island- applies to virtually the whole of Ireland XD Keel beach looked like a really peaceful place! I love Ireland! My girlfriend and I stayed in Sneem county Kerry for a whole year and we absolutely loved it! Another great video Ryan!

Journal of the nomads Not really ireland is mostly lowland dairy and beef farmland.The sheep are mostly kept in the uplands and blanket bog areas where most of the tourists go.Achill island has a human population of 2000 across 14000 hectares with a least a sheep per hectare probably 2 or 3 per hectare.

My last time at Achille Island was 1975 and I had booked an Airbnb for this year there. Unfortunately had to cancel due to Covid so here’s hoping I can go next year.

Go Travel On The Cheap all about experimenting and learning with everything you do. The best advice I've got is to focus on story first 😊

Looks like another reason to go back to Ireland. So much more to see. Looks beautiful. Would love to see the castle. Did they have sheep crossing signs? lol because it really did look like more sheep than humans.

Great video, have been here many times. Unfortunately it's not a hidden gem anymore with the movie that came out recently ( banshees of inshreen) prices for accommodation has sky rocketed. Keem bay is on another level, one of the nicest beaches I've been to and the stop before looking out at the Atlantic ocean. You're not lying about the sheep, they are everywhere😂

Great video. Could all of this be done in 1 day? Planning a day trip to Achill in July and would love to visit these spots but I’m restricted to 1 day only

Ireland is one place where if you know how to be in the moment of you can , unfortunately how many people how to actually do this is a busy world . Where else can you go and meet folk that have time for each other , just for a chat 🙏

Keem Bay is beautiful but the road to it is a bit scary in places. I was very glad to turn inland not far past it. I loved Achill Island. Did you visit the aquarium?

A great video but unmissable are the highest sea cliffs in Ireland. Croaghaun on Achill Island.
