Yeah... I think 1080 in a laptop is getting pretty freakin' niche TBH - I think a lot of that $3000 is built up by relatively low demand for such a high end laptop. I mean... I have a 1060 in my laptop, and sure, I can't run every game max settings at 60fps, but it's easily good enough and less than 1/3 the price lol

Yeah they have some good affordable laptops but their build quality is absolutely horrid. Compared to lenovo's or asus's entry level laptop they are much much better at build quality than acer.

Just got this badboy yesterday!! and its really good, dont listen to those " pro reviewer " , idle temps : 40-43 cpu, 38-40 gpu.... under maximun load, 69-74 cpu, 70-75 gpu.... also the trackpad is very good and responsive, and it dosent get that warm under load/gaming. trust me

Remove the logo and cut the price down to $2000 and I’m in! This is my favorite Max-Q solution so far.

This is exactly how all touchpads should work (not placing, but gestures). My first notebook had similar gestures and it wasn't clickable and I LOVED IT! Nothing else has come close since.

ÁLVARO RAFAEL JAVIER TOLENTINO yeah 2 hours is awful. Probably on battery you would barely be able to launch a game before it's out of juice. I mean, 54Wh for an i7, a 1080 and 32GBs of RAM??? I'd much rather have it thicker but with a 99Wh battery.

Can't go wrong with either of these laptop, both are great. It's just that Asus has small features that wins me over like the bottom funnel lifts up when you open it to let more airflow. Also the touchpad turns into numpad. As for the battery I wouldn't worry too much as I only play games when it's plugged in. Also Asus is cheaper now so that's a plus :D

If only Acer could land this earlier in the market, it would sell really really well, at least I would’ve bought it (I bought the zephyrus at that time instead because this laptop kept getting delayed). By the time this laptop is actually on sale, max q laptops with 8th gen cpu and 144hz fast response time screen are announced, hence the poor sale. It’s a shame that this is discontinued.

3:00 That's how all trackpads work if you don't use the physical button, I don't use it and I consider it more comfortable.

What's the point of having a thin laptop if has bad battery life? If it has bad battery life, no matter how heavy/thin it is, there's no point carrying it around. Seems like two opposing ideas.

Dia Sabah Yep 1080 laptops are never gonna have good battery life. Its basically a desktop it needs consistent energy. You want battery life? Buy a non gaming laptop.

One look at the color scheme and I knew Dave was sold before he even powered it up. :) (As an aside, I bought the Alienware 13" based on his recommendation. My daughter loves it.)

Almost there if only the battery is more respectable even for more casual or lighter productivity use. Hopefully a Max-Q design gaming-performance laptop with minimal design and decent battery life will come sooner or later.

Hi. Your videos are amazing. Good job! Well, i wanted to ask if it's possible to do a review about a laptop set up in an office environment ( screen, blue-tooth mouse/keyboard set, blue-tooth speaker, external hard drive etc..). For instance, take as reference an XPS 13 and try to form the rest set up, or something like that.

Bringing the keyboard forward is a massive design flaw. I tried the Asus Zephrys and returned it within 2 days. The thing is virtually unusable on your lap, you have to move it down to your knees to type.

Make it a bit thicker and give me a 99 Whr battery like Aorus and Gigabyte have been doing, plus a non-G-sync / MUX switch and I'm immediately sold. No point in making to thin and light if you're going to be tethered to a wall the whole time.

CSVisuals bloody hell they can make such a great laptop but can't they thin the bezels? We aren't asking for bezel-less 'infinity edge' displays... seriously I think they did it on purpose just so they can release a remake 2.0 in the coming years... this time with slim bezels and 1440p screen.

Hi David, thanks for your awesome videos. I like them so much! What do you think of the triton 700 with nv1060 version - should consume even less power, cooling should be easier and therefore even more quiet. And it's more affordable. Worth a shot and can you test ist maybe? Not sure if it has enough gaming power, but I guess it's perfect.

I love the slim look of this laptop and Max-Q design. However storage upgrade is gonna cost more, like there's no option for adding HDD. All you can upgrade is the NVMe sticks
