I just got this laptop a month ago. I haven't took it out the box yet. I got a question about the 2nd 2280 slot. Is it a gen 4 or gen 3 slot?

I wonder how well the 4050 could load the textures in hogwarts legacy if Ray tracing was turned off? That might free enough memory to atleast get the low textures to properly load in

I have 2 questions: 1.is there any screw coming from notebook for another m2 slot? If not how we will install there without screw? 2.Is m2 slot size universal? Any kind of nvme m2 suits there? Thanks for answer!

Hmmm, considering the msi cyborg and this if it ever get a release in my country. Will the 45watt on cyborg save battery ? Is there any advantage to having a lower tdp ?

Hi Gizmo i hope you are doing great i ordered this laptop for AED 3150/- equivalent to 860$ i ordered on your recommendation over gigabyte g5 and msi cyborg which are more expensive in country in my country nitro with i7 12650h rtx 4060 almost 300$ dollars expensive which i don't think worth it i am guy only play games 1 day a week one more advantage this laptop has upgradability extra 1 ssd slot and 2.5' hdd slot and comes with 16gb ddr5 ram which is enough thanks for your review love from Dubai United Arab Emirates ❤

If you add a 2.5 inch go with an SSD don't waste your time or money on an HHD. Your computer will run cooler, quieter and way faster

@@spoon1623 I didn't run a HDD I went directly to filling both M.2 with 1 TB each and a 2.5 SSD. Not a bad idea to re-paste the CPU and GPU to get the heat away. Unless I'm really working it hard there is no real difference in the fans tan without the 2.5.

A Steam Deck, it won't burn up in 6 months. And then just buy yourself a normal everyday laptop. Gaming laptops are a waste.

in Q2, acer said it was going to be around May for america, europe etc but there is a preorder in australia rn for april (unless it was an april fools) the ryzen 7 with 4050 for 2,200 aud

This has absolutely nothing to do with your video, but I finally figured it out. I have been watching your channel for a few years and always thought you look like somebody, but couldn't put my finger on it. Now I know. A young Harrison Ford! Just watch Star Wars from 1977. I don't think you were even born when that movie was released, he was probably 40 and your hair is lighter, but otherwise. 😀

If the Nitro 5 can be offset undervolted it'll be a fantastic machine for it's price. That should knock the temps down a lot and maintain / gain some performance in the process.

@@Witiok1992 it does not work well. it works, but not well, and definitely not as well as undervolting. Undervolting reduces temps while maintaining and in some cases increases performance.

I think 4050 is a better option considering dlss 3 and frame generation of course there will be some micro stutters and quality issue but i really think its best to choose the new hardware, btw still 6gb is way too low Vram for both of these gpu. If you dont want frame generation and by chance if yiu get a good deal on 3060 with min 95 tgp then go for it

The Asus TUF a16 advantage edition is objectively way better than this laptop. Screen: The TUF has way better color accuracy, has faster refresh rate, brighter display, 16:10 aspect ratio. Ports: The TUF has 1 more extra type-C port. Plus the fact that this Nitro 5's display port only connects to the iGPU limits the performance when connected to an external monitor. Some monitors only allow overclocking when using display port to activate higher refresh rates. Battery life: we don't even have to talk about this. The TUF has longer battery life. Graphics: The 7600s on the TUF has 8gb RAM which solves the vram issues you might encounter in some games. It also performs better at traditional rasterized games. The only advantage of the 4050 right now is frame-generation and a more matured ray tracing support. Fans: Those fans at full blast can be obnoxious. I had a 2022 ACER predator helios 300 with the same fans and predator sense settings and all I can say is, I can only use its full power settings when I'm inside my room. I tried to game on it at full blast with some of my colleagues and they thought that my laptop was broken. That's how bad the noise is. The only advantages of this laptop are negated by the trade-offs you make. For example, it's ideal to use Nvidia cards for professional workloads as it usually has better support and typically performs better but if you're using this laptop for let's say adobe or video editing, the screen's color accuracy is bad. The only way to circumvent this is by using an external monitor. Another advantage is the temps. As clearly shown on your video, the fans does a great job at keeping those temps in check at the expense of too much noise.

It is a trade off a lot of gamers would be willing to make to get the performance boost of RTX 4000 series and frame gen, but I do agree it is not ideal.

Buy an Acer Chromebook, and an Xbox Series X, and almost a PS5 for the same price, or close. Gaming laptops, do NOT last. Especially Acer, whom I use to love.

I have had my Acer Nitro 5 with GTX 1050 since 2016 and until now the only thing I have changed is the thermal paste. It still works for me like the first time I used it, Acer is the best brand for laptops, the best of the best.

@@luisguillermo1887 I agree to an extent, but mainly because I use to use their desktops for 27 years, only had 3 in that time. The quality on this model MIGHT be an exception. Though I don't plan on gaming on it. Just productivity.
