    I appreciate your knowledge Sorin. But i must disappoint you. I saw exactly the same behavior on my thermal cam on the chipset, the laptop had a picture and was working. It was a Clevo 7th gen Intel board which could not charge the battery correctly and could not work on ac charger alone. The fault was a partially burnt 0603 2.2 ohm resistor in the charging ic section, and i replaced the charger ic in any case, too. This did not solve my problem. At the end my thermal cam revealed the fault, and it was a cold solder joint on ac charger jack on the motherboard. After resoldering all pins, the problem was solved. Laptop charges battery correct, works without battery, does not turn off under load. I went away from the topic. This theory with the pulsing chipset die is not very reliable. This chipset on that board that i mentioned behaved pretty the same like on your board. So, it could be a waste of money and time to replace the chip. People regular jump first to external bios flash. Which is not that wrong. But in many cases not the problem. In your case, hard to say where the problem lies. You can suspect the graphics chip, too. I read randomly a few comments, and someone mentioned that you said the owner tried already externally if a picture is present. So my guess, the graphics chip. But to be real the diagnose process is very hard, and all is a guessing.

    I recently had a similar fault after changing RAM timings on bios on my acer laptop, doing this cmos short didn't reset any bios settings in my case, even after leaving the board without any batteries for like 2 days. After that i was able to reflash the factory bios with correct .FD file name and usb stick (fn+esc+power button) and it came back to life, so i don't think the bios battery stores anything other than time probably because of security reasons, not sure though.

    If the laptop has an external hdmi/displayport, connect it to an external monitor, and/or disconnect the internal monitor cable. If it has an IGPU and a dedicated GPU, like a lot of laptops do, it will actually often boot from an external display if there is a problem with the igpu or the internal display.

  • @carlosgarciaoropeza5480

    @carlosgarciaoropeza5480

    Жыл бұрын

    @fritzsander: It depends on the type of electronic component; but it's good practice to start with 350C and 30 airflow. Experiment with damaged or unrepairable PCBs (printed circuit boards). It records the size of the component, the temperature used and the time taken to remove it. Then move on to the complex jobs, ie removing components near where there is any plastic material (try not to melt it by protecting it in advance). Another way of saying it, practice makes perfect.

    I had a Nitro 5 come in a couple days ago; the Chipset kept overheating. The customer complained that all was fine until instantly one day it just started chugging like the GPU went or the SSD went bad. However, all of it was an overheating SB Chip. I would bet, if it kept being used, we would have arrived at this same issue, a dead SB Chipset.
