followed U're advice ... unplugged, held the start key x 40 seconds & it flew into life!... before plugging it in. (No obvious access to battery)...

My E1-572G V5WE2 has been disassembled since Dec 2019 and now I've reassembled it, it worked just fine and then suddenly a few keys didnt work, 5 minutes after that all the keys wouldnt work and then the next day it wouldnt boot at all, the fan just spins up for a few seconds,no acer beyond limits logo, no windows logo. I've tried every step here except the "quarter sized" battery. I also tried to boot with just DC power and no battery, the battery is also a new one from 2019 and not old like the original from 2014.

Thanks. I will try it. Mines been sitting dead for 1 year now. I was using it and it made a loud click noise and turned off, it’s never worked since and is totally unresponsive at the moment.

I have a different model acer but same concept. I came here because my computer will work with the battery removed and it’s plugged in but as soon as I replace the battery, computer won’t work again. It’s only 6 months old and been used maybe a handful of times; what’s going on?

First solution worked! On Acer Aspire, disconnected the battery cable only, rather than the battery itself. (The ribbon cable connects the battery to the motherboard.) Booted right up as yours did in the demo. Thank you.

I have a 2012 Acer Aspire in perfect condition that I'm giving up on as it keeps shutting down after a few seconds. I tried all your tricks and many others to no avail. It will charge the battery, but shuts down almost immediately in the BIOS after hitting F2. I pulled the CMOS battery, held down power for 1 minute, shorted the contacts, installed a new coin battery and same results. The laptop battery is brand new, the charger works fine, but no matter the combination I power up with, it does the same thing. Sad.

What about my laptop it turned on whitout anything on the screen and the mouse is not work and the sound is not work too and the fans not work too the only thing it worked is charging phone and turning on speaker whit usb how to fix it?

Also when i pluged the battery first then the charger it did makes a poping sound and the orange battery indicator don't turn on but when i plug the charger first and then the battery it did nothing and light up the orange battery indicator

Just remove the charger plug from pc & hold down the power buttor for 30 secs. Then plug in the charger & power on normally. Magic! 🤗 It worked for me. ThnX Nev's Tech!

In my case I connected a small external monitor and the laptop died, not showing charger lights and couldn't turn on. My ACer has internal battery, so I did like the video except that laptops with internal batteries have a little hole at the back that you press for 5 seconds with a clip. Now is working!!☺☺

This is still not working for me, my Acer laptop is from 2009 though.

This is an old Acer laptop, not everyone has the old,dates Acer

that's no good. i had one before that needed a new CMOS battery, but it fired right up after that. now i have another, and i was standing outside taking a piss when the memory came back to me - "is that why i had to do that?" apparently, it is, and now i have to do it again. technically, i have to do it twice, because that last one donated its display and memory (hard drive too small to be of much use anywhere else) to another laptop, and i don't want to leave that brand new button cell in a corpse i'm not going to use again. that was my last 2032 anyway. need to get that back
