Ace Fest was boring

I drove an hour outside of Los Angeles to Lancaster, California for the ACE Family official event, Ace Fest. Advertised as "Coachella meets Disneyland", it was speculated to be a scam from the moment it was announced. They promised too much too soon, and the overall "fest" was pretty underwhelming. I spent my whole day there, let's talk about it.

My feeling is, if you're gonna sell tickets at premium prices, then the only unique attraction CANNOT simply be a meet and greet with you. To have everything they went through with the pricing, and the claims of selling out, or selling thousands of tickets... and then draw such small crowds is ridiculous. I know most people were in line for huge chunks of the day, but I really can't at any point say I believe there were more than 1000 people there attending the event at any point. I really don't see how they made any money from this.

It's honestly not that hard to put on, so I don't know if they deserve much kudos for being able to do it. Really the ride techs are the heroes of these kinds of events because I'm sure they're the ones organizing around each other saying "I need x amount of space and put me over here" etc.

Yeah, I've only seen this guy and some particularly unpleasant political figures address their haters at their own events. Just seems stupid and narcissistic to me. Hypothetically the only people who are at your event are people who already like you or people who want to give you a chance, so being like "fuck the haters!" at your own event just feels stupid. That's gonna alienate anyone who's there who's on the fence about you, the people who actually hate you probably aren't even there or don't care at all anyway, and the people who already like you don't gain anything by you telling haters to fuck off. But you never see people like, idk, Harry Styles bringing up haters at an event.

I found something interesting that i saw in def noodle's video. it was a random dude he talked to saying that oh yeah meet and greet is worth it this is all worth it big time. guy was very monotone and even pushing aside some people talk like that all i could think was 'this is a family friend or relation they have there either to make things look crowded or to overhype things'. it screamed someone who knows them personally. Really respect your entire approach doing these videos! Your information is actually relevant rather than creating tense moments for the sake of it ie wasting time just to call austin a scammer and getting kicked out lol I'd love if less content creators went to these things (aka giving money to these people) just for a few clips of them acting superior. which again, isn't what you're doing at all. i'm so tired of other creators making things for almost....no reason? there's no point in watching other tanacon videos for example because yours cover way more and you actually give a shit about information. honestly would have been interested in hearing from the families who were attending, asking questions like who watches the ACE Family, if the parents watch at all etc. It still is very strange how youtube has them as a channel after it came out their subscribers and comments were bought (something that wasn't much of a surprise). It's so fucking tacky for austin to talk about 'haters'. having mainly kids as your following and doing that is so, so manipulative. he's a ....really gross person.

But then they ended up having a good really good time, and it wasnt as bad as they expected. Sometimes low expectations can be a good thing.
