    "I lost time and time again..but now I´ve finally won" Victory, even on defeat. The Kestrel, and his captain achieve the final and more important goal to any aircraft carrier. Put the planes in the air. Farewell Kestrel. Good job.

    This is one of my absolute favorite cutscenes. The images of seeing the Kestrel, a carrier that has followed us throughout the entire war (and even in Ace Combat Zero), touched my heart the same way Chopper's death did. And Osea's President/Yuktobania's Prime Minister's joint speech really made me get into the mood to blow the shit out of the enemies we were headed for.

    "I've lost time and time again, but now...I've finally won." Beautiful lines, Ace Combat Five arguably has the greatest story of any game. Even though I've seen it half a dozen times, Chopper going down, and Hamilton's betrayal always tugs at my emotions, bringing me to sadness and anger respectively. But, peace was restored to the land, and that is what is important.

    @Izkzmach exactly. in a way, the Ace Combat 5 and Zero plots tied together was sorta like World War II (Zero) and the Cold War (5). In a way, it's sorta the history of the real struggle between the USSR and USA, just condensed to like 15 years and using fictional countries. Ace Combat has been, is, and will remain to have the best storylines and quotes.

    been wondering are modern aircraft that fragile? the Essex class CVs have taken more damage but none of the Essex class were ever lost in combat. the kestrel was a Nimitz class aircraft carrier right?

  • @Alte.Kameraden

    @Alte.Kameraden

    8 жыл бұрын

    +RuneMasterKnight weapons today are considerably more lethal though than then. It only takes one anti ship missile to cripple a ship. It also took one well placed bomb to cripple a Essex class as well. Now sinking, might be a different story. Anti Ship missiles if they hit at the water line, ya they can bring ships down, it's like getting hit by a battleship.

  • @FarrelClement

    @FarrelClement

    5 жыл бұрын

    A bit late, but look up the armoring of pretty much any modern ship and compare it to a WW2 equivalent. Weapons have gotten lethal enough that armoring a ship against them is so impractical it simply isn't done. No modern ship could withstand a beating like WW2 ships, but no WW2-era ship could withstand a modern attack.

  • @kirra9152

    @kirra9152

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@FarrelClement I know it is fairly old, but that's depend on the design. Oil tanker today is considered some of the most armoured ship constructed today. Beside, modern support system installed on a ship can mitigate damage that considered catasthropic to ww2 ship.
