This song absolutely nailed the mood at the end of the game so perfectly. I never heard of the band before when I played it back in 2007, and I absolutely loved it! I figured any and all survivors of the war echoed a sentiment such as this (through which this song expresses flawlessly): "Just what was this whole war about?" "What DID we fight for?" "Was it even worth all the death and destruction and heartache that it left in its wake?" "Where is the sense in any of all this?" Countless broken lives and shattered hearts yearning for answers.

Unfortunately you perfectly described 'War' overall and that was something I loved about that game, the series overall: You are playing amazing air war games but they nearly always, at least the strangereal games transport an direct message: War sucks, its nothing worth and there are no winners.

Who still coming back to this song in 2023?

Everything about this video makes me long for the past. The shitty 240p, the song, and of course the footage. I don't remember exactly how my Ace Combat journey began. I believe I played a couple levels of Ace Combat 5 at my friend's house. Her dad had a PS2 and let me play it whenever I came over. I didn't really know what the game was about and I fucking sucked at flying. I was probably 7 at the time. I think when I was also seven, my mother and I were at the local Blockbuster and I was looking for cool looking games to (permanently) rent. I saw a game with two F-15s and a bunch of explosions and I was like "I HAVE TO GET THIS". I beat Ace Combat Zero that weekend. Then I realized that the name of the game I'd played at my friend's house was called Ace Combat 5. I asked her dad if I could borrow it and he said I could keep it because he sucked at it and never played it anyways. It was at this point that I truly discovered the Ace Combat world. The sense of wonder and discovery I had when learning about this war between these fictional countries was amazing.

I first started with Ace Combat 04 without a save card and and on normal difficulty I never got past level 5 but it was one of the best video games I ever played and years later I am making my own collection where I have Air Combat, Ace Combat 04, Ace Combat Zero and even Ace Combat 5 ( which I had to drive an hour each way to obtain) and with proper save cards this time.

I know I'm 4 years late on your comment but they had AC5 as a pre-order bonus for Ace Combat 7 on the PS4 in early 2019, although Xbox One version got AC6 as the pre-order bonus.

The video my friend showed me to get me interested in AC5 as a kid. This was my trailer. 13 years ago I was 10yrs old

when history witnesses a great change Razgriz reveal it self; first as a dark demon; as a demon it his power to rain death apon the land... and then he dies... however after a period of slummber Razgriz return.... this time as a great Hero.

The song fits the plot line like a tailored suit. ...Sort of.

This was story telling, character development, and world building at its best. Everything and everyone had history. Fiction became reality, in a sense. Games will never be this good again

Hands down the best intro to any video game.

This was my favorite game on PS2 , it bring tears to my eyes listening to this song again after all these years

I long for the good ole days. My heart is belabored by feelings of love and wonder from a distant past.

This will be the best Ace Combat of all for me, I love Ace Combat 4 and Zero and for me the PS2 trilogy will be a gem of the saga, but Ace Combat 5 shows various feelings: happy moments, sad, exciting, shit it’s amazing. Not for nothing is my favorite video game saga of all.

AC5 helped me to decide what I wanted to do when I grew up, which is pushing F-22s to the limit. Favorite game of all time.

Oh? That's cool. I go on KSP to build and fly things for fun. Never really focused on building the planes from AC. Did you use mods to build it?

This series was so immensely influential to my childhood. I would give anything, and I mean anything, to relive experiencing it for the first time again.

I nearly cried man tears when he died, but my bro was next to me, so I just cried on the inside. That's how you know a game is good, when they build the characters that much.

I'm about to turn 21 and don't remember much of the 2000s very much but this was the 2nd Ace Combat I ever played but I played this when I was about 12 and this is very nostalgic to me even though I didn't experience the game when it first came out.

At this point, should be the oldest video I remember on here that I watched when it was recent.

CONFIRMED THE INCLUSION OF ACE5 IN PS4 ACE7. WE WON.

Watching this really made me cry, just due to the fact that this was such a huge part of my childhood, playing Ace Combat 4, 5 and 0, along with the original two on PS1. I know it wasn't bad, but Ace Combat: AH disgusted me and I really didn't like the new systems they added or how they changed the game from Strangereal... I'd pay anything just to have such a massive, and quite influential, part of my childhood brought onto next gen consoles.

Truly this is the heart of Ace Combat. It made you have feels. You cared about your crew and wingmates, despised the Base Commander, and felt like you were the hope to the guys on the ground. You felt a grugining respect for your enemies and true accomplishment with the ending. Best Ace Combat ever

+Cenkic Arkadas Story wise this is better or tied with Zero, Gameplay wise it's the worst of the series, not counting DFM.

After spending so much of my childhood with this game, I stumbled upon this. All the memories. Such a great game.

Every time I think of this I just remember the f-14 at 2:00 and the camera tracking.

@@xuticx Played this game so much during my childhood but never finished it. Got a PS2 Emulator on PC and finally finished it. So glad I didn't spoil the ending for myself lol.

I love this game. I played all Ace combat, and for me, this is The Best! For me is so special, because my brother passed away, a little time before, and he loved all Ace séries

ps2 was the best console, best games, best stories, most nostalgia

Ratchet and Clank ‘going commando’ and ‘deadlocked’ are also a lot of fun, just a bit goofy weak story but awesome: Midnight Club 3, NFL blitz pro, Burnout revenge

I love Ace Combat 5. For anyone who is not familiar to Ace Combat 5. Ace Combat 5 is based on two superpowers the Osean Federation based on the USA and the Union of Yuktobanian Republics based on the defunct USSR, or today's Russian Federation which replaced the USSR. A war broke out between Osea and Yuktobania perpetrated by Nord Belka which is based on Nazi Germany. In the series, 15 years has passed since a national socialist Belka was defeated in a war after it detonated seven nuclear weapons in the Walderich Mountains, and yes since Belka is based on Germany Belka speaks German. Also, just like in the film The Sum Of all fears, Belka tired to make a comback by trying to get rid of Osea and Yuktobania by kidnapping pacifist leaders of Osea, President Vincent Harding and Yuktobania Prime Minister Nikanor Seryozha Victorvich Nikanor and let warmongers on each side to fight each other with planted Belkan aggressors to accelerate war between Osea and Yuktobania. That's how Neo-Nazis in the film Sum of All Fears tried to make America and Russia have a nuclear war so they can re-take Europe into a another Nazi empire.

We're aces one and all.

I see many people here asking for a HD remake of the best games in the Ace Combat series, and I agree. A thought occurred to me... Ace Combat Fan and Acepedia called out to the fans recently to help translate Ace Combat content to different languages. Now, I don't think everyone can do that, but if we can all work on getting word out about this awesome series and growing the fanbase then the potential for profit may become a greater and greater motivation for Project Aces to remake the games. I've heard whispers on the wind of interest from Project Aces in remaking the games... well, if we can make it more worth their while, they just may do it! Let's get out there and spread the word!

Great storytelling, amazing gameplay, jaw-dropping grafics for a PS2-game and brilliant soundtrack. This game was a major part of my teenage years. And I still list it on my top 10. Oh, and this is a great song.

After playing and hearing this song, I imagined myself walking on the runway, wearing a Razgriz squadron jacket, crossing along the hangar while birds fly behind me... Remembering the whole war from how it began to how it ended... From who died be it an enemy or an ally or Chopper... And as the chorus comes in, everything just shifts in slow motion... And as the end comes in, all I could do was look up at the sky as a flock of birds begin to obscure the camera's view of me...

I remember specifically this trailer/intro from my childhood on ps2. In 2020 this is the nostalgia trip I needed.

I played this game on a emulator recently cause I had never played it when I was a kid. When the cutscene this song is in came on I was goin nuts lmao I hadnt heard this song in years and it really does sum up how your feeling by that point in the game. Confused on who you can trust, why your fighting and fighting for. The perfect song for a even more perfect game. Thanks Ace Combat:)

This is without a doubt, my most favorited game of all time. Excellent story, a brilliant soundtrack, amazing realism, memorable characters that you can root for, and spectacular action. People say this was the best Ace Combat of the series, hell, I think it's one of the best video games ever made in the history of gaming. Nothing can compare even come remotely close to this masterpiece.
