Oh My, I am reliving my childhood now. I grew up in rural Northeast Ohio with my Beloved Mom, Grandma, and Grandpa. My Grandma and Grandpa were both from Slovenia. Grandma always read the SNPJ news on the PROSVETA. I remember listening to the Frankie Spetich band from Barberton Ohio. One of the dearest memories I have is the SNPJ Christmas celebrations in Salem Ohio and dancing with my dear Mom. Oh My, OH MY.

It sounds like Swiss music or Austrian music, it's like a mixture of Slavic and a lot of German, Swiss and Austrian, and lots of other people who speak a slavic language can't understand Slovenian, some slightly do, but most don't XD it's also in the 10 most unique official languages in the world and is number 1 with Norway for being the least threatening to children, ^_^

Poglej Hrvate pred osamosvojitvijo in poglej kje so oni sedaj, poglej sedaj našo državo in kje smo bili že takrat.....

Slavs are the largest ethno-linguistic group in Europe. Present-day Slavic people are classified into East Slavs (chiefly Belarusians, Russians, Rusyns, and Ukrainians), West Slavs (chiefly Czechs, Kashubs, Moravians, Poles, Silesians, Slovaks and Sorbs), and South Slavs (chiefly Bosniaks, Bulgarians, Croats, Macedonians, Montenegrins, Serbs and SLOVENES). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavs www.quora.com/Who-are-considered-to-be-Slavic-people simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavic_peoples#/media/File:Slavic_europe.svg

@@randomdude9269 No Croatia lol. For all that history tells us Croatia is mix of Slovenia and the rest of balkan. Remmember Carinthia, Carniola and most importantly first Slav Duchy Samo's tribal union. All great ancestors of modern Slovenia. You can still trace it in north of Croatia aka. Kajkavians. Difference is only Slovenes picked German overrule over Turkish and didn't have direct influence from Serbs (like croats).

You are right. It sounds like north italian (south tyrolean) music but also very similar to the austrian. So you can say, it is typical alpine music.

Slovenians are part of Tyrole for a long time so much off us live in Austria and Italy we lost a lot off land do to balkanization off Slovenia and Slovenians rather lived under Austrians then Serbians and i cant blame them.Even in Italy is the same.

This music is German not Slavic. Slovenia was under strong German influence. It’s not folk music either. It’s origin is in 19th century popular music.
