I was married in 1978 at the ripe age of 22 and of German ancestry. As with any German gathering, my Uncle Oscar and distant cousin Bennie played "dueling accordions" while Cousin's wife Irene accompanied on piano. What a found truly amazing was how much the people my age (non Germans) LOVED hearing them play. The oldsters taught the youngsters how to dance the polka, most of them complete strangers to each other! People still rave about that wedding reception all these years later.

Hello from Waupun, Wisconsin.....this reminds me of my Grandpa so much....he came from Germany to America in 1952.....he would always play polka and other kinds of Germa music in his woodworking shop on his farm...when I was a young kid, I didn't appreciate it....now years later I love it..it reminds me so much of my Grandpa...he will be gone 3 years in June.... German according music influenced Mexican Corridos greatly in Mexico. The accordion was introduced to Mexico by Maximilian of Austria. Corridos roots come from Germany and I love the support from both Mexican and German countries.
Watched this morning, and brought back good memories of my late brother who played the accordion so well back than in the early 80's. Wonderful instrument. God bless the one playing this.

How RIGHT you are! Isn't it a shame MORE people don't listen to music, REAL music, to forget their troubles, get energized & feel happy about life? Hear the music & dance ( a partner isn't necessary. just twirl any way)a polka to chase the blues away.
Getting older means I go back to where I was born Nederland. Love this type of music even though have lived in Australia since 1950 still Dutch by heart get home sick when listening to these melodies. Please keep them coming for us to enjoy.
Thank you for this. My mom used to play the accordion since she was 8 years old. She now is in her 60s and has dementia, and lost her ability to play. Mary Tokarski was her teacher. This music brought a smile to her face and a pep in her step. THANK YOU ❤️

Your Accordion Man Waltz took me way back. I received a child-size accordion for Christmas when I was eleven because I was a huge fan of Myron Floran. But being left-handed, I put it on backwards/upside-down (naturally). Quickly graduated to adult size. I enjoyed just playing for myself, but anytime relatives visited, I had a captive audience. I took three years of lessons, but unfortunately I never was a natural. It did teach me a lot about music though, which I’ll always be thankful for. You play beautifully. Thanks for sharing.

Que música tan bella. En el noreste de Mexico y Texas también se escuchan polkas, en algún momento de la historia este estilo influenció a los músicos y ahora forma parte del folklore norteño de México donde el acordeón es un instrumento típico de la música norteña.

Both my Oma and Opa came from Zuid-Holland, survived WWII, and moved to America. They loved orchestral, accordion, and organ music. They were some of the best people in the world, and their music taste reflects that. I get my music taste from my Oma, and it's a lot better than what any modern music has to offer.
I learned to play the accordion on my sister’s accordion.I was just 9 or 10,o loved this instrument ever since but now in my old age, arthritis makes it impossible to play, however,it doesn’t stop me enjoying someone else playing, anything,I love the sounds different cultures have, and it’s interesting.
Everything about this makes me happy. Danke Schön!

I love St. Paul's Waltz, it reminds a Waltz that is played in the Series Movie of Johanne Strauz Life, It's played at a pub/restaurant and people used to go out and dance, this happened in the 1800's. There is nothing most beutiful than to listen to Waltzes as well, dance to it.
