Most likely the truck driver is looking at 2 counts of vehicular homicide. So about 20 years in prison in my state. The family/families of the victims are also going to get a nice fat check from the company who employed the driver.

More than likely on his phone or to exhausted to be driving or both. When they say distracted / Impaired driving kills it's not a "ha ha funny joke" it's because thousands already made that mistake and are now dead or so f'd up they can't function normally anymore

I think it's because the train indicators weren't working. But if you see cars stopped like that, it's probably for a good reason. I see way too many people see a line and just decide to drive around it instead of considering a possible reason they are stopped
