I realized the more I suppress my emotions like anger, it comes back stronger and that anger is directed towards me. I start to blame myself for being weak and letting other people walk over me. I care too much about my reputation and because I didn't want to cause trouble, I just let things slide. I learned I need to respect myself and create boundaries so people will know that there is a line that shouldn't be crossed even if it means I'll be perceived as rude and selfish.
