Don't know about Indian, but in American English it can be pronounced as 'raaut' as well as "root"......I came to know this in the Netflix series "Stranger things"!

That is the correct way to say it. I’ll still pronounce it as “root” if I’m talking about the highways but if I’m talking about a “paper route” or “running a route” I’ll say it correctly

Idk wat this video is all about at this point 👀 but in most states of the US we def don't say "root".
