Academy 1/72 Scale D-Day P-47D Razorback Thunderbolt (Part 2/3) - Painting

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Welcome to part two of my build and review of the 1/72 Scale Academy D-Day special P-47D Razorback Thunderbolt. In this first video I paint the model and try my hand at some painted invasion stripes...
I had this kit in the stash and decided to get a video done on it before the 80th Aniversary of the Normandy Landings.
Big thanks to all my amazing viewers. The channel is now monetised so I can finally say my hobby is very near to becoming part of my income, thanks to you guys :)

Invasion stripes!! Nice!! You're absolutely correct about stripes being applied in the field; in many, many cases crews used paint brushes and mops! You're stripes are convincing enough for me to not shoot at this Thunderbolt!! And Cartograf decals......👍👍👍. It's very helpful you list the products used. P-47 looks great and looking forward to the weathering you applied. See ya!!

Yes you got your D-Day P-47 after all! Yeah I’m really happy with how they turned out, I’ve seen plenty of pictures showing the crews applying them and while maybe it’s a bit exaggerated on my plane, they are often messy! Glad you like the list too👍🏻 Planing to have part 3 up tomorrow some time😁 Thanks for watching as always mate!

I’m pretty sure the RAF used the razorback, in fact I think the standalone 1/72 Academy kit may have one with markings for the Burma campaign which is unique🤔 Thanks mate so glad your getting something out of them and good luck with your Thunderbolt😁👍🏻

Cheers mate👍🏻 I gotta say after making this video I’ve found opinion is very divided on masking tape or not for d-day stripes🤔

I did consider it for the invasion stripes, and it probably would’ve made them a lot neater! But at the time I wanted to go for a more messy effect. Thanks for watching👍🏻😁
