ACA Hurricane 130 Siren- First Test in 25 years-Please read description
PLEASE READ! As you all can see I have slow down on uploading Siren content This one is special to me and I figured I would share the moment with everyone. This is the first test in over 25 years of an ACA hurricane that originally was installed in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1979. It was removed from service in 1998 And kept in Dale Mueller’s private collection. I would like to thank the Sheboygan warning systems Crew for bringing this rare piece of history out for everyone to enjoy. After We completed two decades worth of maintenance over the course of an hour, We hooked everything up to an RCM and let this monster rip at full power. We supercharge to the siren using a sutorbilt 4M Roots Blower from Federal The Thunderbolt. We got a damn near perfect seal after modifying The flange and using a toilet gasket. Despite using a blower with 1/3 the horsepower of its original Blower, it kicked out some serious sound. If you listen with headphones you can hear it maxing out my phone microphone. I know that everyone has an opinion on the sirens and their reliability, But we were able to get a 45 year old siren that sat for 25 years and damn near perfect condition over the course of one hour with basic hand tools. Good luck getting an electronic Siren from the same year running that quickly.

Actually that should've been how they would avoid replacing them lol just replace the blower
The healthiest sounding hurricane in existence. This thing makes Milwaukees hurricane a geriatric
It is a miracle from God that the guy in the cap holding his ears did not drop dead or suffer pulmonary embolism when that siren went off next to him. Sirens that are 126-130 dB at 100 feet away are a whooping 187-190 dB when you are right next to them like he was!!!!!

That sounds really good!!! Bibi 0:00
That sounds good. I kinda think the background sound with the sirens itself sounds like a Thunderbolt's blower box that is on the ground while the Hurricanr itself sounds like a combination of a ACA Allertor and a Thunderbolt.

Could the one in Milwaukee WI have its blower replaced with a Thunderbolt Blower to make it last longer that factory installed one is on its last legs and sounds like it is ready to give out every time someone records it during tests

It would be easier to just find a compatable off the shelf industrial blower that could be installed with a minimum of modification.
If I could I would own one of these beasts. But they are so rare doubt I could. Also if ASC Does ever get a chance they would refurbish this.
@vantaaax
11 ай бұрын
they probably would not considering they have no reason to. the only reason this would be refurbished is if dale mueller wanted to himself since this is a part of his private collection.

Well if it's blower still existed we would have hooked it up to the siren. Pretty sure the reason this one was taken out of service was because the blower quit. Makes sense, the hurricane blowers spin at 3450 rpm. They are time bombs
