I need an honest mechanic like you in my life! I paid over $500 for a RE tune-up. Only to find out that they never touched a thing. My check engine light, vcs and traction off lights are forever on. And AC (ha!) they “fixed” all right. That was another cost that I’m embarrassed to speak on. (Dealership did that one.) Anyway, again, I am learning and watching videos to make sure that people are doing the right things. Thank you, Sir!

Great video man. Thank you for this. My 2010 Nissan rogue progressively blew less and less cold air. I went to refill the freon and the pressure was already maxed out. The compressor is also shaking a bit and it's constantly running 🤔... I guess I gotta take it in so I can be charged for this and 17 other things I "need." 😐

hey i have a 2014 camaro and did this service the beginning of summer i had a problem were the hot air would work and when i tryed cold air it would only blow neutral or sometimes a bit hot when i did the service my ac was back blowing really cold air but now a few days ago it started doing the same thing , also checked blend air door and its good , do you have any idea what it could be? thanks!

Nooo. Just make the correct step make sure u ask ur mechanic if he got the ac machine and then pay him for the service and it’s $9,000 machine if he got cans and small pump. Run from him

Hi, thanks for sharing. I have a 2012 Toyota highlander, the AC compressor comes on but no cold air inside the car. When the car is not running, there is equal pressure on the high and low pressure sides. When the car is running and AC on, the low side reads between 25-40Psi and the high side reads 70-75psi, and the lower side of the condenser feels very cold. Pls what do I do to correct this strange behavior. Thanks again.

You ever figure it out? Sounds like either the compressor is faulty or it isn't staying on due to other reasons whether that is due to a pressure switch, etc.

This service I usually charge $135 with oil Freon and add dye also I give it a check out after few days of driving to see where it’s leaking from if I see somthing I let the customer know

@@RBTheMechanicThat's a fact but I'm learning from you. I bought a 2002 Subaru Outback Wagon AWD 2.5l 4 cylinder with 250,000 miles on it. I have had it for 5 months now with no issues. I live down South in Mississippi and Subaru's are very rare down South. It's hard to find a mechanic who knows how to work on them due to rarity. Do you think Subaru's are good cars?

i have a strange situation. 2000 suburban. all my pressure gauges look good. 100 deg temps outside, low side is 55, high around 315. the high pressure side hose is hot, then after the orifice tube the low pressure side is cold (not super cold) and my air is still blowing about 70 deg out the vents. I also manually put the cool/hot blend door in the cold position just to make sure the actuator isnt stuck. any idea what to check next? i dont wanna throw parts at it, and im pretty good at diagnosing. also the rear ac (separate controls) only blows hot but that symptom is almost alway a clogged expansion valve. ( front system uses orifice tube, rear uses expansion valve)

Ok do recharge service on the system and see if it works good it might be low on Freon even though u have pressure reading good it can be high temp air pressure anyways if that works out good but if it dosent then it can be ur ac compressor don’t push out good pressure

@@RBTheMechanic I have a similar situation, I took it to a shop and had it recover/recharge, still the same, it’s not cold, everything checks out good, fuse, relay,condenser, no leaks, it’s not blowing hot air, it’s more warm than hot. I’ve check the servo motor/blend door actuator, and it’s working, could this be just a bad compressor? Low and high lines are both hot.

High side sounds high. Maybe it's a restriction in the high side, clogged condenser, or maybe your fan clutch isn't providing sufficient airflow causing high side to rise too much?

2007 Acura TSX. A/C has been getting less cold over the last 2 years and really struggled last summer. Now it doesn't blow any cold air. Clutch engages and fans turn on properly. AC lines stay warm. I used the gauge from an AC can and it shows ALERT and 60 psi on low pressure side. I have NOT added any freon from can or ever had it serviced, so it cannot be overcharged. When engaged it doesn't seem to put a noticeable load on car anymore. Bad compressor? Low freon with air in line due to leak? Something else?

Ok I wouldn’t rule out bad compressor 60psi is high when ac engine running for low side so from what u stated u might have small leak and it kept loosing and now it has hot air expanded pressure so I would recommend doing ac service and add UV dye so u maybe can trace down a leak other wise if it gets cold I would let it run if u don’t find the small leak

@@RBTheMechanic correction, the AC does put a load on my car when engaged. However there is a decently loud whispy hiss noise coming from front dash when engaged. I think the noise has always been there, but it was much more muted and less noticeable. But now it hear it very clearly. Is it coming from evaporator? It' ovcurs at the beginning but comes back intermittently as well

I bought a can of Freon and tried filling it. But gauge said it was filled enough already. AC line is not cold at all. So, these “do it yourself cans”, are useless without vacuuming the system first? Otherwise I’m putting Freon on top of hot air?

Trying to charge the system on a 2007 Suzuki forenza, it was leaking from high side line at compressor so changed it and verified its sealed now, put a vacuum on it, charged with a can and the compressor comes on and stays on does not disengage at all and absolutely no cold air. I'm guessing it needs charged properly

Ok now u need to check the blend door motor it might have stopped working last when it was on heat so check that

@@RBTheMechanic Same thing but the metal hose doesn't get cold. I just went to AutoZone and bought recharge and one of the staff helped me check pressure on gauge and he said it was 112 and didn't need Freon. Do you know what else I should check? The compressor is on. Could it be my battery?

Bro, I have a 2000 ford explorer. It had a good AC system until it had some sort of overheating issue months ago. I've recharged it, the clutch is activating, but there is no change at all in the vent air, not even during the recharge. I've put 22 oz and even bought some sealant that's suppose to seal every type of material but nothing. Compressor comes on and off normally seems. I have no condensation at all either.

Nope not with machine. People do that with cans so the compressor can suck in but what about air pressure that gets jammed in

I have a 2009 Nissan Murano and recently changed the ac compressor I recently added about 6oz of Freon then it started making a noise whenever I turned on the ac and the air wasn’t cold to assumed there was too much pressure so I released some and it was working fine for about a week now I have the same issue ac making noise and not blowing cold air

Compressor will engage but no cold air. The gauge show high side pressure is same as low side even engine run at 2000rpm. Is it low freon or compressor fail? Thank you

It can be low Freon and pressure can be just air pressure so best thing here is to reservice the system

I doubt it this is made by snap on but u might be able to find one on eBay and have it shipped but I would recommend get robin air ac machine.

Hi I have charged my 2007 Saturn aura with freon since I had a leak at the Schrader valve so it was replaced with a new one I performed a 30 minute vacuum and it hold it so I charged it with the correct freon but the compressor kicks in but it does not blow cold air!! The high side is warm to the touch and the pressure is high please help

@@LEONDELASIERRA1 ummmm I usully use machine and let the machine put refrigerant from both Low and High lines 6 oz is bairly not even half a pound that wount even let the systym cool not even 50% also the ac compressor will come on and off rapidly

My 2010 Honda Accord A/C slowly stopped blowing cold air, went to add Freon and it already had pressure. So, my question is, what would be the cheapest and best step to take next? Also, my air compressor doesn't seem to turn on to help circulate the air, it makes no sounds at all, maybe my compressor is out?

Well if ur Freon is leaking u need to add dye to trace down the leak and fix the leaking component there is no cheap fix and I would never recomend the leak stopper it destroys the system

2014 Camero, AC compressor kicks on, has pressure in the system. But the air is semi cold. Not as cold as it should.

Check the ac line is it ice cold ? The fat ac aluminum line should be ice cold if it’s not cold that means u have pressure but not ac Freon pressure might be hot air mixture

I have a 2006 Kia Rio. I’ve recharged the system. The compressor works fine. But air in the car still blows hot. The low side under the hood still feels hot. Any ideas?

AC isn't blowing cold on my 2002 Honda Accord V6 282K Automatic To check for a leak, I pulled vacuum with a pump and using a manifold gauge. Disconnected and let system sit for about 8hrs. Reconnected gauge and system still had same vacuum readings. To check for blockage, I pulled vacuum from low side, and lost vacuum when I opened high side. Did the same for high side. To check low pressure switch, clutch didn't engage when system was empty. I pulled vacuum to ensure there was no air in system, then I charged with 1 can of only R-134a 12oz. The compressor clutch engages and condenser fan runs when ac is switched on. When I disconnect the low pressure sensor switch, the clutch and fan stop. The manual says capacity 15.9oz to 17.6oz OR 21.2 to 22.9oz depending on my condenser, so my 1 can is low but it is enough to exceed low pressure switch and engage clutch. Doesn't even blow cool air with 1 can and clutch engaging. Blend door works. Ambient temp is about 90F, engine warm, manifold pressure gauge shows around 100psi on both low and high when off. When on, clutch engages but no pressure change. Low doesn't drop and high doesn't rise. I'm leaning towards a bad compressor. I could add a 2nd can to bring up to spec but I don't want to waste it if that's not the issue and a part needs to be replaced. Especially since the clutch engages already, I feel like there should be at least slight cooling. I would prefer not to replace the compressor and find out it's the evaporator core and expansion valve. Your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I’m having a issue on 2015 Chevrolet Malibu , ac compressor is running , my air comes out hot on ac and sometimes for like 5 min the air gets cold soon as I start driving it goes back hot, musky smell also , or if I turn it on while parked and happens to come out cold soon I turn the thermostat off and back on its comes hot . The compressor is running whole time

RB The Mechanic , the fuse an relay is good, the compressor clutch engages and comes on , but normally you hear the car kick into a high load but just runs normal . I just topped off the system with fresh Freon , also when it does happen to work you also don’t see the water in the bottom off car

Check ur radiator and condenser fans for working operation other wise it could be low on freon

They r bad!!! Some one came a way to make money created cans but it dosent even fix the car ac it not accurate I had many people come redo the job

@@ThomasComiskey-uz4ie so ur compressor is not working just the outter pullie is rotation with belt I order for compressor to turn the clutch has to engage I think ur mixed up just because pully is tuning dosent mean compressor is turning that’s the job of clutch to engage it

@@RBTheMechanic I solved it My clutch was not kicking in , so I took out the clutch relay , jumped it with a wire , results , ice cold air ! Took the wire off got the relay for 17.00$ Works Great !
