AC WON'T TURN ON FIX

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Is your Home AC not turning on? What can you do? You need air conditioning! Well this video helps you hopefully figure out how to fix the problem of your AC not turning on. These steps shouldn't cost you money. My AC would not turn on and it was 100 degrees outside! We called the AC repair guy and we would have had to wait for several days for him to come out. I figured it out well before then. The problem with my AC not turning on was that the drain pipe was clogged so i simply ran a wire down it to get it unclogged and BOOM! working AC. Good luck fixing your air conditiong! And i hope that helped.

    Thank you! Just saved me from Texas summer heat! It was the drain pipe, I looked down in there and saw water standing. I tried my super plunger (pump handle type) and it freed up whatever was causing the issue. Water still can be seen, but I suppose that's expected to a degree. At least now I know about this aspect of my AC system and can start keeping up with the service for it by adding some white vinegar to help keep it clean.

  • @TRYtoHELPyou

    @TRYtoHELPyou

    7 жыл бұрын

    +DELROY JENKINS oh man! Glad I could help :) what that clay is, from what I have found, is dust in the air, getting past the filter then getting caught on the evaporator unit during the condensation it creates by cooling the air.... Slowing down the melecular movement of the water molecules (causes condensation on the cold thing-evaporator) then running down the evaporator, collecting in the pipe and condensation tray below the evaporator.... In short... Change your filter regularly and make sure there is no space for air to pass by it letting dust in the system...

You solved my problem, my AC was turning on every 4 hours than it would turn off so I replaced the capacitor and it immediately turned on than an hour later the AC turned off again so I went to the attic and saw the aluminum pan and it had a safety switch and it was full of water and the pipe that the water runs out was clogged so I scooped the the water out and ran a snake through the pipe and poured water into the pipe to flush it out and the AC turned on right away. Try to Help You. I remember that I had originally tried to turn the circuit breakers off and then on a while back but I tried to do everything again just now anyway and no luck. But the funny thing is ..in the circuit board in my home some of them are really easy to flip.. those are the playing Square black ones... others are really hard to do and look a little different and I'm wondering now if some of them are marked wrong because the ones for the AC and the heat are very easy to flip whereas some of the ones for my kitchen are really hard to flip.. do you think it sounds like they got the wiring mixed up when they in the electrical box ?

    I came across your video while trying to "troubleshoot" a recent problem with my A/C system... 86'F in the house, and the A/C wouldn't come on. I cleaned the condensation coils, flushed the drain, and changed the filter... Also clicked the thermostat and the main breaker switches "off" and "on" again... And nothing working, until I re-watched your video. It also inspired me to take a closer look at my overflow sensor cup thingie... Thinking that maybe there might be something (ie. dust/dirt) interfering with the sensor wire despite the overflow cup being completely dry? So I took a Q-tip to carefully clean inside the cup... Found a small hole (where the overflow water comes up from) and poked the Q-tip inside that hole... And VOILÀ!! That did the trick!! The A/C clicked on immediately!! That tiny hole inside the overflow drainage cup was blocked with dirt/debris and interfering with the sensor. I wanted to pass this along just in case it's helpful to someone else as well. Thanks for your video!!

    Glad I could help. Be sure to change your filter often to avoid debris build up, is what I am finding out. Super glad to see another person found their solution ☺️

    Hey, haven't tried this, but I sure will if I can find my drain Haha. But My AC kicks on but the blower fan doesn't. But yet, I can turn the blower fan on manually and it does just fine! Please help!

    For folks who are reading this years later.. Here's an easy fix: If you have compressed air, stick the spout or nozzle into the end of the drain line where the water flows out into the floor drain or sump.. and blast some air into there. Usually that will be enough to un-clog whatever is blocking it. (you may have to tape or just put your hand on the open end T if you have one up by the drain fitting on top of the furnace)

    THIS IS GREAT! I am so glad this is helping people out. Its so simple but the companies that do repairs dont run you thru the simple steps to check first. I assume they would not make money that way :(

    Hi, I have a condo AC unit in the wall and I don’t see the drain pipe that you showed in this video so I can’t use this method to fix my unit. I think I have the same problem.

    check your filters and look at the coil on the inside to see if it's dirty if not called a hvac tech and he will check your refrigerant and make sure your compressor is working correctly and there isn't and blockages in the system

    YOU ARE AWESOME!!! I had a clogged pipe. I just banged at it and then I heard a clog start to drain out and water followed for a minute or two. Ill fix it better tomorrow. I have an intentional dip in my drain pipes and it seems like the last A/C guy ran the drain pipe like that on purpose to create another gig for later... hmmmm
