AC/DC's RARE Interview with Angus Young & Brian Johnson 1983

Музыка

AC/DC. This is the FULL VERSION. The video you see is unedited Raw Footage for my TV show, which originally was created for Night Flight on USA Cable. Most of the content has never been seen. I remember being torn between wearing a hat like Brian wears just before we started.
Angus has a great sense of humor. One of the amazing things about this interview is just how funny Angus is. He was on a roll.
Steve Boyle Produced the show whose videos have been seen on MTV, TNN, and other outlets throughout the 80's & 90's. Other TV shows we did with Def Leppard, Zebra, Joey Ramone and others have never been seen.
This Video Feedback with Allan Handelman was recorded for the Overnight TV Show called "Night Flight." Only potions of the show ever aired.
Recorded in Raleigh N.C. the day after the band spent 2-hours taking calls from AC/DC fans on the Allan Handelman Radio Show also known as East Coast Live.
Allan remains close with the entire band till this day. In 2003 Angus introduced Allan to Bon Scott's nephew. Allan presented his nephew with the interview he did with Bon in 1980 during the Highway To Hell tour. It turned to be one of his last interviews.

I am not surprised I met him and Brenda in May, 2016. I drove to his house in Sarasota and he got home while I was outside his house. I explained who I was, I am a huge fan and I had my little boy and my wife with me. He invited us in , we took a picture, showed his cars, talked about Flick of the Switch and other things. He mentioned that he was going to go on an early dinner with some friends so that was my cue to leave. We left and I could not thank him enough for everything. Very nice people both of them.

Except for that super mansion that Angus built in his neighbor hood. Looks like something the Queen would live in. The neighbors try to stop em from building it because it looked so out of place in the neighborhood. It's kindda sad that they sent Bon off in a Ford Pinto Hearse I was like come on guys at lest get em a decent ride to the grave…Btw which is very small brass flat head marker his family paid for. I believe Bon did write some of the Lyrics on BnB because the Scott family receives royalties from BnB to this day. One of those I bet is Shake a Leg. If you ever heard the rare song sung by Bon "Carry me Home" it's an eerie foretelling of his death he singing in a sloshy drunk half sung half spoken thing w/over the top drunk type voice that he never spoke like it was on purpose that's odd it's self. They Lyrics is something like this- "i'm down here on the floor are you going to leave me he drown? won't somebody carry me home…."

I'll echo a lot of the comments here, this is a great interview...the interviewer shows respect and asks very good questions and he doesn't interrupt or pretend he's cool...just seems really legit and very interested in the answers. Angus and Brian seem really down to Earth, talking about their early days not having money and just doing what they love to do. And what a great story about Brian writing on stage and having an appendicitis attack! Their humility is really admirable especially compared to the pretentiousness and egoism of so many musicians (or any popular personalities like actors and athletes) today. Man, so Refreshing!!! Angus and Brian: YOU GUYS ARE BOSS!!!

I have a theory that there aren't any people in the world that don't LIKE ACDC, just a lot of people that don't KNOW ACDC and are yet to be shown the path to enlightenment.

What I really like about watching Angus and Brian getting interviewed is the fact that they both let each other talk and have a laugh, you watch a KISS interview it's always Gene Simmons mostly talking and talking not about the music but how he is better than everyone else. This is coming from both a KISS and AC/DC fan, but I prefer Angus and Brian getting interviewed.

@@ihateliberals518 Kiss is only popular because they know how to put on a good show visually and the REALLY know how to market themselves. Simmons especially just knows how to sell and promote a product. Musically they are rally kind of average and not an especially tight sounding band... better than some for sure and worth seeing for sure but ACDC shreds them live musically. ACDC is a well oiled musical machine, especially with Rudd behind the kit. They are also much more humble.

@@bluebandit1281 I totally agree. Their costumes and make up was what really got them noticed. Musically they really kind of suck. There's a couple of songs that weren't bad. But mostly they sucked. And you're right kiss vs AC\DC. It's not even a contest. AC\DC wins easily with either bon Scott or Brian johnson

I saw an interview with Gene Simmons where he was asked what opening bands for Kiss impressed him the most. He said AC/DC. That was when Acca was only starting off in the States as a support band. The comparison is one is insane raw rock with natural humour and character. The other is a light show, makeup, bizzare costumes and staged performance with rehearsed dramatics doing certain characters. Of course they were successful in the marketing and money department. I prefer a band without egos and just great music rocking the crowd who were caught up in the rock even if the crowd were blind or blindfolded. That's why I listen to Acca Dacca albums. Not Kiss ones. Personal choice.

You can run a country if you can make great cup of tea. Angus Young lead guitarist of AC/DC predicts in this interview from 1983 (the rise of the current Indian PM). Watch 3.30 to 4.00 mins. What a discovery. Thanks Allan for uploading, you remain close with the entire band till this day, can you persuade them to perform in India.

6:22 Appendicitis Story, U MUST HEAR THIS, FUNNY. 11:35 Brian Steals Rings, VERY FUNNY. 27:50 Angus w/out the "G", VERY FUNNY... Life is a journey that should be filled w/ love, joy and happiness, ACDC is a band that personified this recipe. I never saw them w/out a smile on their face. Bon Scott was truly a one of a kind and laughter was his constant companion. Brian Johnson had some awfully big shoes to fill and did it w/ respect, honor and humor...

In 1983 I had just gotten my drivers license and I borrowed my mom's car which had a broken radio so I borrowed my friend's daughters Campbells soup transistor radio because we didn't want to miss AC/DC if they played it on any of the stations. It sounded like shit, but we were glad to have it! We were glad to have anything that had wheels and would run! I'm 52 now and still a hard rockin AC/DC fan! Love these guys! Love to see these guys laughing and having a good time!

Wow I stumbled across this by accident and as soon as I read Allan Handelman it rung bells with me! I remember laying on the bed listening to 106.1 and loving this show as a young man and thought it really gave me some insight into the artists I enjoyed so much. Thanks for the memories and those experiences then! And I'm glad they are still around for me to enjoy now!

Thank you for the upload. 👍 Brilliant! This certainly quells all the stupid rumours I've read from KZreadrs who wrote Brian and Bon were great friends, that Bon told Brian "if I die I want you to replace me", and that Bon wrote all the songs on Back in Black. I called bullshit then. People invent things they want to believe I guess. The problem is that a rumour starts and it snowballs from there. Bon and Brian clearly had great respect for each other. You can't deny the boys chose the right man to keep the band rocking on.✌

Brians Not from Newcastle- He's a Gateshead lad- across the watta as they say here in the toon- Dunston to be precise. I've loved the lads since 79- 9 years old when I bought highway to hell me first album. Me kid brother roadied for them at the city hall in 81 and he gave me the programme. Angus stood on me next door neighbours tab (cigarette) at a concert and she had it framed!!- ive started listening to them again and its brought it all back to me. Loved high voltage as I used to play it at school and the lads all loved it. But Back in Black will never be beaten- one of the greatest albums of all time. Hope the lads keep playing as they keep me feeling like a kid again and that;s the best feeling ever!!

great interview, just 3 years after bon died, 'back in black' and 'for those about to rock' were out, not sure if this is b4 or after 'flick of the switch'. top 3 rock bands all time, beatles, zeppelin, ac/dc. angus really personable once you get him to open up.
