    I'm so happy I got to see these guys in 1984 and again in 1990's. Their age has more than caught up to them. Actually, Brian's vocals were way worse in 90' then 84'. The band wanting him to sing harder and more constricted than his natural voice was the stupidest thing ever. (Actually I think it was also Mutt Lange's advice) Regardless......it destroyed his vocals for this type of singing. Listen to him on Slash's new album..........THAT'S how Brian actually sings. He's got a great Tom Jones thing goin' on. He's not meant to sing like this, nobody is. He's completely constricting his airway. That will only work for so many years lol. kzread.info/dash/bejne/g3WspKefe8i1qto.htmlsi=1XbKdVzSCCFaMT_n

    Not quite true. He was already singing way high with Geordie, before AC/DC. All that's happened is that with age (he's 76, FFS) his voice cannot do those difficult songs anymore. They should have dropped them many years ago but Angus obviously feels they can't do that. And Brian still has that voice in the studio, he was excellent on Power Up. I agree he's great on that Slash blues cover.

  • @Hologhoul

    @Hologhoul

    12 күн бұрын

    @@sashlipinski7034 Range is relevant because it's become difficult for him to sing in that style, live, in those registers. He's had to adapt, but never really sung like BIB live anyway. Actually, his voice on BIB was similar to the 70s but with more power and edge. On FTATR it's true you can hear perhaps the start of nodules. You've made an assumption about the band's instructions though; I think the issue is how his vocal cords handle the live environment. He probably could have benefited from a vocal coach but I think it's just age, wear and tear. There are plenty of stages of his career where his voice has sounded in great shape on record and live, even on the Black Ice tour he sounded amazing at times. But it wears down very quick.

    I saw them in 88. The crowds were better too. Packed in like sardines. Pogoing as one. 18 thousand. This is 8% of that gig sorry to say. I've loved DC for 40 odd years all there albums except last two. Seen them a dozen times. I wouldn't pay to see this. Don't slay me just giving my opinion

    Slowed down songs, detuned guitars, most of the band gone, Brian screech-talking through the tunes. Not great in fairness. They were still pretty good on the Black Ice tour, but those days are long gone. I say that as a big fan of their music.

    As long the songs that are being played have the actual SONGWRITER still in the band, there's no issue. And in this case, you have the singer and the lead guitarist. Brian's been in the band longer than Bon ever was...and if you wanna be technical, the "original" line up hasn't been original since the mid 1970s 😋

    Are you all deaf and blind? First, there is next to zero energy on the stage and in the crowd. The breaks between songs last forever, Angus does a little duck walk here and there, but that's it. Johnson was a great frontman, nowadays he's out of shape, out of breath, doesn't interact with the audience. They look a little lost on that huge stage setting. Second, they play sometimes slow and sloppy, but at least slow most of the time. Thunderstruck is a desaster, everything else sounds like it's slowed down 10 percent. Third, Brian Johnson ist not up to the task anymore. He doesn't sing one single song in the set well. He can't hold the notes, he doesn't hit the right notes, the voice is completely gone. They sound like an AC DC tribute who couldn't find a good singer. I have seen AC DC numerous times since Phil's return in 1996. 2015 in Cologne (with Brian) was so-so, the other concerts were all fantastic. Loud, energetic powerful Rock#N#Roll. But this is just sad, they destroy their own legacy. I have always been a big Brian Johnson fan. He always came onstage as if he couldn't wait to rock people's asses off back in the day. Nowadays he walks around trying to sing close to the original song. And please don't tell me that the guys are old. They charge their fans serious money for this, so I would expect a performance that blows the roof off. This will surely be the last tour they'll play, but it's the tour they shouldn't have done.
