Should always stick with black for hot and white for neutral on AC power and black for negative and red for positive on DC always use green for chassis or earth ground. It saves a lot of confusion you could use white for both neutral AC and negative DC and black for hot AC and Red for positive on DC to eliminate all confusion and no confusing ac and dc power. When you you ate dealing with AC residential you are dealing with black and red for hots with 220 power and white neutral and bare copper or green for ground.

you really should have the black 12v wire be the pos. so they match inside the panel. So all neutrals and grounds are the same color.

Thanks for the video. I'm just curious how you like the 24v system. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Do you get any phantom drain from dropping the voltage down to 12v when not in use?

You should really take the video down... you have a white cable on the positive and a black cable on the negative. Positive needs to be red. Or at least put a red heat shrink insulation or label accordingly. It is sad that a person like you is putting a video like this to confuse people, or worse yet, put them in danger.
