Abyss was just a fantastic character. Chris Park is one of the most underrated modern workers. I’m glad I got to meet him in person and tell him how much I appreciated what he did for Impact and for wrestling.

somewhere around 2006 or so I Volunteered for a local wresting company that paid for Abyss to fight in the main event of their show. I got to meet Abyss and hangout backstage with him. He had to wear his mask outside and anywhere in public to prevent photos of him from being shown. Backstage though he didn't mind us seeing. No photos were allowed without the mask though

  • @EternalxFrost

This promo is probably the best monster character promo in wrestling history, period. Chris J. Parks is TRULY an underrated wrestler. The Abyss character was just insane, epic and really believable, especially in early TNA days. Even though we would probably never see him in a WWE run as Abyss, I still secretly wish we would. And yes, he TRULY deserves & earned his spot in the TNA / Impact Hall of Fame. Jeff Jarrett and Dixie Carter gave him a chance when he was a nobody (his own words), and he really made the best of it. To me, Abyss is to TNA what Kane was to WWE, in his own rights.

These two always manage to keep it together. That was probably the most imposing promo of the week in any wrestling show. As for the comparisons between Kane and Abyss, I would say this was played out way batter. Kane was unmasked in an over-dramatized rather laughable segment, (turning around with grease on his face for 'maximum' effect'; really?). This not only took time, but was played out by two capable in ring performers. Although hackneyed in a story line (unmasking) sense, I hope TNA follows this up well, and not lose the brutality bit that made Abyss int he first place

It will be the Sinister Minister of ECW Manager of Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri Aka Father James Mitchell in TNA long time manager of Abyss and Judas Mesias from 2002-2009.Hopefully the Sandman's good friend will take the Abyss character back to it's truly monstrous root's.

Abyss was such a good character for so long until they ruined it on his return ( don't know what date it was, but he had like a 2x4 with nails or some crap). When he was wearing the all black and didn't talk he was at his best.

agreed but at some point you have to EVOLVE just like 'Taker did just like Sting did. Both of those guys had the "i'm dark and dreary and don't talk" gimmicks and eventually they both had to move onto to something different.

markpain98 Ill be happy with either. Just change up the attire a bit cause it doesn't look right with him unmasked. I don't mind him unmasked because look at what happened with Kane unmasked. But Kane had mic skills Abyss doesn't thus if Mitchell comes in then i hope for the best.

Will ABYSS find the one who will finally understand him? How far did Eric cross the line while trying to bring ABYSS out of his shell to love him for whom he really is? Will Eric's heart ever recover from this break-up? Did ABYSS do the right thing in protecting his former partner by running away?
