Abyss was just a fantastic character. Chris Park is one of the most underrated modern workers. I’m glad I got to meet him in person and tell him how much I appreciated what he did for Impact and for wrestling.

Abyss stayed with TNA/Impact no matter what even when he was offered a job with wwe and a program with the undertaker and it’s amazing to see that he stayed with the company no matter what
First time ever watching him and this promo hit me in the heart I felt every word he said
@ElMachoGringo47
Жыл бұрын
I downplayed TNA
Abyss= beast mode. Can't wait to see where this goes. Sure hope he realizes,the monster is the only way to be.
somewhere around 2006 or so I Volunteered for a local wresting company that paid for Abyss to fight in the main event of their show. I got to meet Abyss and hangout backstage with him. He had to wear his mask outside and anywhere in public to prevent photos of him from being shown. Backstage though he didn't mind us seeing. No photos were allowed without the mask though
This promo is probably the best monster character promo in wrestling history, period. Chris J. Parks is TRULY an underrated wrestler. The Abyss character was just insane, epic and really believable, especially in early TNA days. Even though we would probably never see him in a WWE run as Abyss, I still secretly wish we would. And yes, he TRULY deserves & earned his spot in the TNA / Impact Hall of Fame. Jeff Jarrett and Dixie Carter gave him a chance when he was a nobody (his own words), and he really made the best of it. To me, Abyss is to TNA what Kane was to WWE, in his own rights.
Man, Abyss' mic work and face expression is awsome....!!!
This would of been a good time to bring back father James Mitchell as the manager of Abyss

there was only 2 people that understood abyss(Sting and Mitchell, since Sting is no longer in TNA, mitchell is the only logical person)
These two always manage to keep it together. That was probably the most imposing promo of the week in any wrestling show. As for the comparisons between Kane and Abyss, I would say this was played out way batter. Kane was unmasked in an over-dramatized rather laughable segment, (turning around with grease on his face for 'maximum' effect'; really?). This not only took time, but was played out by two capable in ring performers. Although hackneyed in a story line (unmasking) sense, I hope TNA follows this up well, and not lose the brutality bit that made Abyss int he first place
i love what their doing with this. it has me interested to see what unfolds next. i knew they were gonna go with a 2 split personality angle but i love how they did it, they gotta bring back james Mitchell
It will be the Sinister Minister of ECW Manager of Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri Aka Father James Mitchell in TNA long time manager of Abyss and Judas Mesias from 2002-2009.Hopefully the Sandman's good friend will take the Abyss character back to it's truly monstrous root's.
Abyss is all like "Heyyy youuuu guyyyys" 😂
newly unmasked kane vs newly unmasked abyss is a REAL MONSTER MATCH
I would love to see two monsters: Abyss & Kane in their prime fight in a Monster's Ball or HIAC match

agreed but at some point you have to EVOLVE just like 'Taker did just like Sting did. Both of those guys had the "i'm dark and dreary and don't talk" gimmicks and eventually they both had to move onto to something different.
