Some people make it hell, but other people of opposed characters to those people may be indispensable as nothing truly great is done wholly alone (c.f. Malcolm Gladwell). Those who make it hell are pretty obvious - are they, you know, _hurting you?_ The question is more whether you are too attached to them to give them up (and note that some abusers can actually "trauma bond" you to them).

Sure. This sounds nice. But when you think of it, could you give an example how this advice would actually apply in the real world? I am thinking about a situation where you did something one way before watching this video/advice and how you instead would do it after embracing the advice? My point is that most similar videos sounds inspirational, but there is not much you can actually do with it. Sure, finding meaning, to be resilient, increase your freedom anyone would agree are all good things, but this is already clear to everyone.

Your video helped me to understand the true meaning of absurdism. Believing life has meaning and trying to find it out is the root cause of suffering. People become nihilist and raise the next generation with the nihilist approach. Absurdism tells us straight that do not try to find meaning in life as life is inherently meaningless. Instead try to find a purpose and cultivate perseverance to fulfill that purpose.

100% There is no intrinsic value in life, that’s not to say individual people don’t have any value, of course they do. But life itself is just there, don’t get distracted trying to find out why, just enjoy the ride. In the scheme of things, that ride is terribly short, so enjoy it 😊

You can either built a constructive world for yourself or a destructive world. You don't need anything for that. If you know how habbits work and let go of any attachements you cannot reach at the moment. The only ingredient need is true love. Which goes really deep. Thus finding true inner love is hard. For most it will be a long term search. For example try not to do stuff only to be accepted (negative lower vibrating emotions). You sell yourself to the devil and will create a destructive world because that is not real love. True love is also not only positivity. True love means looking objectively at your self and the world around you. Seeing the "Yin and Yan" Understanding that this world is a grey zone, not just black and white and accepting it which brings you to the now. Sometimes you cannot stop these addiction (unhealthy relationsship that make u angry, dr*gs etc.) with no true love. Than it will be a confronting lesson with your inner shadows that you can learn from.

Thanks for the video. I was fortunate to stumble across the Rebel by Camus years ago, in my 20’s and pick up on this direction. I think absurdity comes in trying to control things outside of our control. Focusing on what we can control is the most rebellious and liberating thing we can possibly do, and that’s when our lives truly take whatever meaning we give it. I’m 47 and as smart and as strong as I’ve ever been in my life. Society at large is rotting all around us, yet that’s all the more reason to laugh at its absurdity and be as healthy and free as possible.

as a Christian, I look at absurdism a bit differently then most (if I am wrong about this, please correct me), instead of believing life has no meaning, think of it like this, we are all like children, learning and growing, we are taught subjects like math, science, and such, but for most of us, we believe that it is meaningless simply because it makes no sense to us now, and that it has no use now, but slowly as we grow, we relieve that math isn't some torture device parents made up to make us suffer, it helps us in so many things, the same with history and other subjects some people thought where useless and meaningless. the same is with life, life doesn't make any sense, it is absurd, but that doesn't mean it has no meaning, we are simply children, learning and growing, the journey is not more important then the lessons it teaches, because it is like a book, after the story reaches its end what are we left with, if not the lessons? the same is with life, we leave it having grown and learned things we couldn't have if we didn't feel pain, rest, joy, sorrow, war, peace, prosperity, famine, illnesses both physical or psychological, wholeness both through experience and wisdom, for we need the experience, both pain and joy, to gain the wisdom, but we need the wisdom in order to see the beauty in both. that is why I love absurdism, as it is a breath of life into western philosophy, which it is good to cover many dark, yet important problems, (i.e. Kafka, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, etc.) as a dark room makes us appreciate when the lights are turned on, but if we simply just let the darkness consume us, if we believe everything is meaningless, there really wouldn't be a lighten room, just darkness. edit: amazing video, I really love how you described absurdism so simply, yet effectively. thank you.

Hmm. I just now tried to use focused willpower to see if I could bifurcate myself to exist in 2 places at once. No success, but you did, after all, say to "ATTEMPT" the absurd. So I need to find more absurd things to attempt now. Which raises an interesting point, though - is there a "cadence" at which we should attempt such things? Because what if it would work (no scientific proof, but many anecdotes in various religions and mystic philosophies of similar things) if considerably more effort were put toward it? But all such effort comes an an opportunity cost in that one could be trying a different absurdity with potentially greater chance to yield fruit. Interesting!

It is important to maintain balance in life, but if you are healthy, well-fed, and surrounded by happy people, then why not seek meaning in life? Living without purpose is like being an animal that only focuses on satisfying its hunger. When you have some time for yourself, why not reflect on your own existence? If you have even more free time, then why not contemplate the deeper questions of life? Albert Camus, after much thought and reading of absurd philosophical concepts, concluded this term called "absurdism".Or he was lazy to think because this take lots of efforts, energy and , endless thinking. So, It's important to note that what may be beneficial to some may be harmful to others. Not everything is meant for everyone. For example, if workers were to start pondering lofty philosophical ideas and philosophers were to take up manual labor, it would not be meaningful. Therefore, deep thinking is not suitable for everyone, but it's definitely not absurd.
