Ryan im 24 getting into carving tried wanting to learn from my dad who is a retired carver but he's too busy to teach me so im learning from family friends who do it and I studied from the books my dad got me and after that I started watching and learning from you and other carvers videos yours have been the most helpful. Plus my dads been worried for years me wanting to learn carving as a kid because I've had this rare epilepsy disorder called LGS since I was 4 years old but I've had it under control after my dad got me the right help when I was 7 years old since I was 18 I've been cutting firewood and brush with a chainsaw with full forestry gear. My dad and everyone else around me told me lately if i want to carve i have to study and learn as much as i can before I start out
Great ,enlightening videos

Rock on!
This video is perfect timing!!!. How often will you be releasing this series???
I love my echo’s. I been watching you a couple years now, been carving a year, you have been awesome in many ways. As soon as I can I’m getting a cannon bar. I’ve been using forester but I don’t think the tips are really dime sized. Keep up the good videos! I learn with every one I watch!!😊 30:28
I only run Echo too!! I want to learn carving. I’m pretty good with a saw and I’m told I do the best palm trees people have ever seen (100s of jobs). I’m super meticulous. I have ran 2511t for the last 5 years and I have only seen it as a climbing top handle. That 2511 you have is sick!!! I also have a 590 timber wolf that I love too.
Really looking forward to these videos. I bought a 140c about a year ago and have had so much fun having a go. I'd never even seen a chainsaw close up before that. I am a self taught knife and chiesel carver since I had to retire early a few years ago. My resources are slim (found wood and donated, mostly hardwoods) and I cannot work from home, living in a flat (appartment}. I heared a lot about a new Echo battery saw a while ago (battery saws definately the way to go for me) but at the time they were unavailable in the UK. I'd love it if you could include what is possible with the newer genorations of battery saws along with your teachings. It would be a great help. I understand that they are approaching the power of gas saws. 👍

Thank you for doing this. My wife and I learned a little bit last year at chainsaw carving school. We have echo 310 with a standard 14 inch bar and low profile chain. We are old and time is limited for me but I will enjoy your lessons! Do you ever come to the states?
Watch you all the time. Been doing some carving for about three years now, but always learning. Always looking for new tools to help make the carvings better or easier. Wondering what brand or type of 1/4 pitch chain do you recommend
I've had a husky for years cutting firewood. Just started chainsaw carving and maybe I missed it but what would be the best saw just for detail . Love your videos ryan
Hey ryan, do you have plans to start shipping this bars from your store to other countrys like brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷 great video !
Any recommendations or links on the 1/4 chain and sprocket you’re talking about? I want to make sure I get the correct stuff. I have the chainsaw waiting for me at Home Depot and the carving bar from Amazon coming in. Thank you for your help.
are you against a 3/8 ptich dime bar with 3/8 chain? That's what I have recently purchased for my stihl ms170...waiting for my time to get to carvin....
This is going to be a very exciting series! Just started hobby/part time carving a couple months ago, so I am consuming endless hours of videos trying to absorb as much information as possible. I started selling my work about a month in, and I have been shocked how much demand is out there. One thing I have noticed is there is very limited amount of conversation on youtube about the wood itself. Would be great to hear someone go into some detail about preferred species, methods of sourcing, best practices for stagging the wood till its carved, bark on or off, carving green vs seasoned, opinions for preservation once the carving is complete, and even what should be communicated to the folks that purchase the carvings so that they last for years to come. Hope you can touch on some of this, obviously an important part of this business and seems like its a bit of an overlooked conversation?
