i have never understood, why take risk? in something so expensive as a car. go around instead, it will be a 5 min detour worth a fortune in avoided damage.

The detour around Sutton Ford is a maximum of 2 miles, less than a 5 minute drive but by no means as funny. I've driven it many times and never use the ford except in Summer when it's about half an inch deep. A big up to the people trashing motors, costing themselves thousands of pounds just to give the likes of me a laugh

Even fully comprehensive policies have clauses refusing pay out for avoidable damage. Recklessly ploughing into deep water is clearly avoidable You either lie about the circumstances ( yes , underwriters do watch KZread) and run a very real risk of being done for fraud or shell out.
