Berhalter’s return is an assured sign of USSF’s unwavering commitment to bone crushing mediocrity, mismanagement, and their desire to claw their way, kicking and screaming, to the middle. What an enormous disappointment.

We are not baffled. We know they are bad at their jobs across the board. They said they view their job as growing the game in the US. The USMNT coach’s job is to WIN a World Cup. That is their only job. Any other answer is wrong. Their process has NEVER selected a World Cup champ. The US’ best finish ever was 90 years ago when we finished 3rd. In 2026 the Cup is on our soil. Our focus should be to better that achievement and we are hiring a guy who is openly happy to lose in the first game of the knock out stage. Berhalter Out.

I do have an issue with leaving Reyna out of the lineups. Sure other countries left out better players but those countries can afford to do that because of the player pool. Reyna has a huge talent gap between him and others who played, for example, Morris. We don't want a manager who wants to prove proof of concept. We want one who calls up our better players and builds around it and lets them play.

Its your opinion that this player is the best but at the end of the day, the game is about getting the results and if they did then what are you complaining about!!! The greatest day argentina can have is when they leave out messi, they still win! and if a team keep leaving out their best players and still win that is what you want and not the other way around.

It seems to me there’s a lingering Cold War culture in US sports, where reaching the national team is more like a steady employment. The reason being, I would guess, to be able to compete with the Soviet system of full-time pros, in a world where everybody else were amateurs. I heard commentators complain that the USWNT WC roster wasn’t decided as early as half a year ago. But that’s not how national teams work in the rest of the world. Internationally the only ones employed are the head coach and his staff. Players come and go. Of course you aim for consistency, but injuries happen, players lose their starting 11 spot in their club team, etc. The coach picks the best team available to him on the day. The system has obviously served the US well, question is will it work as well going forward. The Cold War is over, and everyone's a pro these days.

Employ his rigid tactics and formations that hamper offensive flow and creativity. #3. Show his inability to adapt to the opposing teams change in tactics and formations. #4. Won't utilize his BEST players talent by putting them in their best positions. #5. Doesn't get the most out of his players by hindering their ability to use their individual skills to their utmost through either his rigid system, poor tactics, bad formations, inability to access a player's talent level, continue to play his favorites or sheer incompetence.
