Is there another (cheaper) tool that can code the ABS module? The price seems a bit steep for your everyday user

If you try to code E66 BMW with that tool you will need to change the CAS Unit because will erase the data for BMW E Series you need different tool

will it work is the replacement module is a surplus

I doubt he is using a J box. A Jbox is only needed when flashing a module from the "cloud" or manufacturer's remote servers online.

Hi, is it compulsory to code the ABS module when we replace another one? Do we code it when the part numbers do not match? Or we have to code everytime we replace even if the part number match? Thanks

No J2534 you need a laptop for. Only bmw and Benz can you use a j2534 with Autel

Price of that. May aswell take it to the dealer

Yes you can with sone module some will program some won’t
