Who would have thought that that was how it all started? A man and his wife who were called out of their homeland, out of their comfort zone, into the Great unknown, where only by letting God take them by their hand can they go on. And the wife couldn't have children, and no false "god" could change that, but the real God...... When it was far beyond all human ability, He gave her a child. And asked Abraham to give the child back to Him. And by the trust in God that God had built into Abraham over the years, Abraham finally overcame the temptation to hold on to the gift of God, instead of holding on to the Giver of the gifts. Abraham had passed the test, and had earned his title of "the father of faith", even though he went through all sorts of ups and downs, even convincing his wife to trick foreigners into thinking that she was just his sister, so that he couldn't die, but instead, would directly benefit from the lavish gifts the foreign kings would bestow upon him. He had his weaknesses and we have ours. God does not call the qualified. God qualities the called.

Something I just realised very recently is that when Abraham lied about Sarah to Abimilek she was more than 90 yrs old! I wonder how people aged in those times because she must've been tremendously beautiful at that age. So much so that Abraham worried that someone might kill him to have his 90 yr old wife!

@@SahilPawar95 I've heard that the Word of God is the best fountain of youth. Adam to Noah lived close to 1000. We kinda went down fast after that and our age limit went to about 120 years. The only thing I find funny about all this is that proud atheists actually think we're better off today than in the days of yore and blame God, the Bible and Christianity that we don't live longer. Little do they realise that God gave us Christ Jesus as our Eternal Life, so that if we believe into Him, even if we should die, we shall live. And Paul realised that Jesus was growing up as his Inner Man. And consistently tried his best to live by the Christ Jesus reborn in him instead of by the remains of Saul of Tarsus still hanging on as his outer man. It wasn't always easy for him. You can notice how patriotic he was for Judaism in the epistle to the Romans by his continual mentioning of: "to the Jew first, then, to the Gentiles". He shaved according to the Jewish way as a thanksgiving offering. He fought God and His people for the right to go to Jerusalem instead of going straight to Rome, and then to Spain from Corinth, to try to "fix" the church in Jerusalem, where all those Judaizers were coming out from James to pollute the purity of the faith in the Gentile world. And that's where James launched his trap and ensnared Paul into funding 4 supposedly Jewish Christian men into taking the Nazarite vow.... When.... By nature, just by virtue of agreeing to become a Christian, it's pretty much the ultimate fulfillment of the Nazarite vow. Paul raised a lot of funds in the Gentile lands to try to get the Jewish Christians to be one with the Gentile Christians. But it all fell between the cracks because of James. The end result was that Paul was arrested by the Romans, which actually saved his life from the angry Jewish mob. But he went in and out of jail from then on in. He said he was imprisoned in Christ Jesus and had on him the bonds of Christ. In a sense, he was absolutely right. Jesus wouldn't let him do his own thing anymore. He was far too patriotic for the Jews for his own good and he almost got himself killed. I guess what this shows is that there are physical limits for all of us. Jesus had a limit in Capernaum and in Nazareth and in the lands of Judea. Not everyone believed. Paul had his limited in Jerusalem and in various other places. So if we can't get everyone saved, it's not us, it's them. There are physical limits we are forced to work within. But even within those limits, we can make a great difference. For example, in spite of all of Paul's shortcomings, he got me saved. And that's, what, almost 2000 years after his final breath? That's not bad going. And he got you and all these other Gentiles saved. We can make a difference. If we get only one person saved, that person might get another 10 saved, who then each get another 10, and the wedge made in time is massive. Satan would hate our guts and want us dead, but that's exactly what we want from Satan, isn't it?

@@payaj2815 Have I seen you before? The Bible is the inspiration of all inspirations. By nature, we Chinese are one of the most pessimistic human beings who have ever walked the face of the earth. We're also one of the most cynical. 5000 years of godless human civilization is enough to make anyone lose faith in humanity. But Christ! A Chinese man wrote about how deep the Bible is. To have Judas, on the one hand, who walked with Jesus, only to betray Him. And then, to have Saul of Tarsus, on the other hand, who hated Jesus and hated Christians, but ended up becoming one of the most faithful. He said that the author of the Bible knew him inside and out. And he's right. The author of the Bible is God, his Creator. It's not everyday we Chinese meet up with Someone we can look up to so easily. The Romans were strong, but they were not moral. The Greeks were smart, but they weren't very moral either. The Persians were cultured, but they weren't very moral either. The Babylonians were glorious, but they definitely weren't very moral. The Egyptians were very rich and ancient, but they weren't very moral either. We Chinese lived through all of their rises and falls. We've seen it all. And it's only a matter of time before it's our turn to fall. But then, we see Israel, reborn from the dead, after 2000 years, and we see hope. There is hope beyond the grave! Not everything is lost! All it takes is for one Chinese man to believe, and China can be reborn! And I can be that one Chinese man! Our hope is not lost! The tyranny cannot last forever! Jesus will judge between the righteous and the innocent! Yes, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and we all deserve to die. But Jesus forgives! There is room for repentance! Whosoever confesses their sins to Jesus will get forgiven! It pays to be honest! Jesus will not harm the whistleblowers and Jesus will protect the whistleblowers! Not a hair on our heads will be harmed! And just by loving Him, we have secured the love of God for thousands of generations! Even if our descendants are as naughty as the children of Israel, God will still find a way to turn their hearts back to Him! So I don't even have to worry about disciplining them that much! God will take over that role! Hallelujah ❣️💘💞 We're the dream team, God and man! God meets all our needs and we meet all of God's desires! God just wants a people to call His own and men He can raise up as His own sons! He's willing to work with anyone! And that anyone can be me! Or you!
