Great stuff Hein. Extremely helpful. I've been riding now since May 2021 as a complete new beginner. Bought my first bike last year, 2014 Vstrom 650. Beautiful bike and enjoy that drive all the time. Going on really ok now and taking my time absorbing all the learnings. I even went so far as to do a solo trip to Mossel Bay and PE covering about 1600km. And I am enjoying it all the way. Slow speed skills an adrenaline rush lol. But, I practice regularly to keep it fresh. I'm planning my drivers early in the new and taking my time now to prepare in advance. Next year I definitely want to do some off road lessons. Your lessons on-line have helped me out all the way.

Can I use 1500cc at the testing station?

Hi there. I’ve still got my learners and need to test soon. I own a Yamaha MT07 with an aftermarket exhaust. It is a bit loud so I’m wondering if I would still be allowed to test using it or just hire a bike to test on?

You can have it tested, the loud pipe, it must not exceed 120dB at the rev range you'll be riding at. Otherwise, play it safe and hire a bike.

I'm going for a Driving test tomorrow, but my starter doesn't work. I think the battery needs to get changed and I need to go for the test tomorrow. Will I get penalized for kick starting the scooter?

A motorcycle Learner Licence will allow you to ride a motorcycle for 2 years without carrying a passenger. It is recommended that you get your full motorcycle license before the Learner Licence expires. Read more at www.msi.org.za/questions-about-the-k53-motorcycle-license-test/

I rode a 150cc scooter for about 10 years without a licence, just went every 2 years for learners licence I got so used to the test that i did not have to study for it each time It also helps that do i do have a car licence.

@@masegofinger6815 Yes, on the highway and many times. Fortunately no passengers at that time. I no longer ride a scooter because of getting blown of by winds in the CBD, i upgraded to a car and intend staying with a car now
