Someone came from British Columbia told me that there are lots of oil wells that are capped and no company wants to use it because it would force the price of gasoline to fall below $0.50 per litre. And it would allow Canada to become independant from foreign oil. Well? Then then is no need for tar sands. Trillions of barrels yet no one want to extract that oil from the wells in Pink Mountain.

Nice video. It shows that we're not just about ugly tailings ponds. As Albertans we know our land best and care about it more than anybody. Oilsands are powering Alberta's future and powering the world more than most people realize. We're the new Saudi Arabia, like it or not.

mmmmm Would strongly disagree ! We are energy based economy not just Canada but the whole world. If you shut Down oil production in Canada our economy would go flat !

The argument against oil sands is important but altogether still constitutes only part of the entire cycle of fossil fuel consumption. We burn fossil fuel, we harm our health directly. To argue for fossil fuel development on economic grounds while ignoring the direct harm to our health is truly baffling.

Greenpeace get over yourself please. Stop being a bunch of hippies and start worrying about how you can work along side these companies in order to aid in creating more efficient, environmentally friendly ways for these productions to occur.
