Extracting oil sands for the Keystone XL pipeline
Ойын-сауық
In northern Alberta, Canada, tons of oil sands are being extracted from the ground every day to produce a thick, gooey form of petroleum. Fort McMurray, the city at the center of oil sands mining, has seen a huge influx of people moving to the area for jobs in or related to the oil sands industry. The proposed Keystone XL pipeline would create an easier way for this oil to be transported from Alberta to refineries on Texas's Gulf Coast. However, many environmental groups oppose oil sands production because of the high amount of greenhouse gases the production creates, and the U.S. Government has yet to approve the pipeline.

I'm interested how can I get in touch with Mrs Joanna?
Nothing but love for the oilfield
i'm a teacher trying to present an unbias view on this issue (to my students). there's great information here; however, the music choice is definitely not without bias.
Well she said it ..... If we had the KEYSTONE PIPELINE it would significantly cut down on these emissions! Because without it all the product would need to be shipped down to the gulf via rail or trucks ! Seems like a no brainer ....
Can somebody explain why they cant build a refinery in Montana or South Dakota insted of shipping oil all the way across America via a pipeline ??

It’s more dangerous to transport it
buying oil from Canada as opposed to China makes way more sense for the US
I welded pipe line for 40 years I loved it it’s the best job in a USA
So ,will not depending on foreign oils
Would buying Canadian oil makes us more energy independent?
agree
OMG the music is so ominous, I'm all a-skeered and stuff.
Our current government has not only streamlined the environmental assessment process for natural resource extraction but they seem utterly uninterested in processing natural resources to create a more value added product. The cost of creating refineries to harness potential revenues from oil sands development are certainly inhibiting. However, Canada's government has made it apparent that negative externalities from oil sands operations, like spills and other disasters, are acceptable.
dual track to the port of Valdez Alaska to carry 5 million barrels per day by rail car
Great resource and great alternative to foreign fuels.
the begining of the end....
Open Oil Pipelines from Canada to USA. You Tube.
Error-riddled marketing strategy from CAPP and industry, acquiescing to the climate scare (it is not "carbon emissions") - see the ICSC video on this in our video response.
Energy conservation + Keystone = White Elephant. In fact, energy conservation would put entire Alberta tar sand enterprise out of business. Conservation is coming whether people want it or not.
US manufactories are not using this oil resources. We will need to export them and then import back finished product. Obama administration isn't rejecting the plan, but to delay it because we need to preserve them while we develop capacity to manufacture oil products. This way we can save both the environment and the money. Building a pipeline now can only benefit small amount of middle class workers (few couple of thousands) in short period of time (few decades), while massively benefit the rich few. If we delay the project (let's say two decades), we can create more jobs (hundreds of thousands if not a million), and last longer (half century to a century), and frankly the rich few will still benefit from it (they might just be too old to enjoy it).
Interesting show.2 bad I couldn't watch with that screeching background music
Sure, we can ignore environmental impact when importing oil from elsewhere? Brilliant liberal logic.
And what are the levels of Toxins in those "Reclaimed" lands? ...

Theyre actually removing the oil from the ground and reclaiming it. They are actually cleaning the land.

Yes, to key stone pipe line..... Kick it off...... Aloha....... Take the risk and be success...... Understand the progess of environmental issue........ turn them to clean immission.....free...
The possibility of something going wrong is so small! We know how to transport oil. It will create many new job opportunities. USA needs oil and if you cant trust us then who can you trust?
Terrifying listening to these CEOs talk.
give it time...good grief....I don't want to have Canadians troops sent to the Middle East to fight wars with Muslims for oil.....enough already

Just do away with the stupid music...and improve video quality at the same time! I'm here to learn something...
Oil = bad Electric car = good Or so you thought. Lithium for batteries is mined in central America. You electric car also needs aluminum and copper. Yep, thats gets mined (big machines) from the earth also. It then get hauled (big trucks) from the mine to the foundries in trucks. Then it gets hauled (more big trucks) to the plants to be made into cars. The cars are then hauled (big trucks) to the dealerships. Would anyone like to talk about old battery disposition or about where electricity comes from?
