Thanks for watching nono ley.🌱🙏 I honestly don't know much about likir Village. Still I shall carryout research and come up with one sooner or later. Grateful, if you could contribute any significant historical or other facts, other than Likir monastery. For example, likir has been famous for pottery. From where this art initially came. Why the name Lhukhil etc. Stay blessed 🌱😍🙏

Juley Ajang lay, listening to your podcast/talk in a long while. Very interesting and blissful story of Rhung ma Palden Lhamo. 🙏 Here I want to share what I was told by Genlays when asked about the covering of the face of such Deities. I was told several times by the Genlays at Thiksey and Spituk Gompa that, since these deities have a very fierce and wrathful expressions, there has been many instances that people who are light hearted were fainted when they would see them. That is why their face is usually covered, to avoid such situations Ajang lay. I also agree to your explanation as well, Ajang lay. Your way of story telling is very nice Ajang lay, if you use a good mic it will be a cherry on top. 😀

I resonate with your view as well in this regard, Ajang lay. Please continue to make such videos on these deities, Ajanglay. It’s very interesting to hear. Juley kulu. Any number of questions, always welcome ley. I shall try to reply to the extend possible out of my very limited knowledge. 1. Palden Lhamo is believed to be enlightened deity. She is very compassionate in essence. Therefore, I don't think, she will let loose those small pox virus at any cost ley. That's my thought and belief. 2. I have no idea with regard to the legend that she came flying to Khatsa Gonpa Tia from somewhere. But Khatsa means "to get stuck". Name suggest that someone came there and got stuck there (khat". . Whether this name of the place is related to Paldan Lhamo or something else, I don't know ley. 3. Some of the wrathful deities are keet under veil probably to make it more powerful. An always exposed deity in open gets quite familiar and a common commodity. Rare is always precious. Veil adds to the value and dignity of the deity in the eyes of devotees. She remains veiled to make her more important, precious, rare, unfamiliar and uncommon to create more reverence in the hearts and minds of devotees. That's what I believe. Though some people say that she is kept veiled so that people with less nerves don't get frightened to see her wrathful and ferocious look. But I don't think so. That's what I can say ley. 😍😊
