Ableton Tutorial - Complex Drum Programming = Ned Rush
Музыка
In this Ableton Tutorial its all about that complex drum programming. Download the set here. / 58628122
I’m going to experiment with some Complex Drum Programming in Ableton Live 11 but actually in a way that’s not very complex at all and maybe is actually quite straight forward and might not even involve that much programming.
I’m going to do for a style that’s very abstract but funky, very glitchy and a bit industrial but still very dancefloor, I hope anyway.
It’s going to be a mixture of chance based sequencing, sound design and random midi event processing, mainly using only a few core approaches using drum racks, drum synths and midi expression.

@@ilumijaxxi Same. Was literally thinking, "Fuck! So many people are going to be upping their drum programming game, massively, from this shit!!" These are life skills for any producer!! Amazing stuff.
It's incredible how versatile Ableton is with all of its "hidden" features. These are some really fantastic tips, thank you for sharing!
i support any ned rush complex drum programming video on general principle. this is a pre emptive trust-like, ned
Great for some interesting trap hats. Actually, all the techniques I’ve gotten out of NR’s channel have been crazy useful for making unique sounding material when applied to genres outside of the breakcore/glitch/idm stuff in which they seem to be created from. I’m sure that’s the intention here, but I really hope producers outside of the sonic landscape these videos inhabit are still taking note of all the clever, outside the box techniques since they’re all applicable in so many ways. Even if the video mentions one or another genre, this dude is like an encyclopedia of countless approaches to doing so many things in Ableton. I’m not really a break producer and it’s my favorite channel on Ableton on all of KZread!
By far the most fun I’ve had watching an ableton tutorial.
your definition of listening to dub/raggae as compared to passing from one space to another is awesome!
Duuuuuudddeeeee! WTH. I'm so glad I found this channel. Sick......
perhaps the best tutorial man on youtube?? who knows! great job as always
I've been blown away by this, tremendous thing!
incredibly unique workflow and ideas love this cant wait to try it tonight
Excellent tutorial, reminds me of some Autechre beats. Love the out of control delay feedback shenanigans too!
always exciting when uncle ned releases a new tutorial compounded with his descent into madness, perfect!
I've been searching for tutorial vids going this deep forever. Thank you!
I am absolutely in love with this channel!!
Vast amount of electronic sound knowledge so generously given, Thank u man.
I didn't know a thing about Expression Control! Damn, been hiding on me this whole time! Thanks.
One of the best drum tutorials I’ve seen in years blew my mind and I’ve been doing beats many years love it
I learn something new and useful everytime you put out a video, I really apreciate it, Ned! Expression Control is amazing
The best channel for learning core concepts and experimenting on ableton live 11! 🔥
Thank you for all your tutorials, you're the best!
glad i found your channel. Most useful ableton tutorials I've seen in a hot minute. Already adding spice to my tracks. Might have to check out your patreon. Keep it coming man.
discovered this channel when searching for a tutorial on operator drums, which turned out to be one of the funniest and most helpful tutorial ive seen. so glad youre still making amazing video. i am an animator and i usually rely on javascript expressions to add modular chaos to my compositions, so this kind of thing is just what my music needs. thanks!!!
enjoyed this a lot - learnt and laughed in equal measure, cheers man
Holy sh*t Ned, I've been trying to nail a sound like this for so long. Thank you so much! Never stop!
Great video Ned, and thank you for Drum Rack Buddy! Love your work! 🤘
Incredible tutorial, mate. I've been using this program for near on 13 years and had no idea you could make such crazy and complex sounds in just under 30 minutes!
Ace video yet again - I feel like the new MIDI effects/modulators landed in Live 11 with basically no fanfare whatsoever, which is mad, they're amazing
Loved this!!!
This is great, I can play this live with my pads in experimental jams, I'm gonna set up similar and add it to my hybrid drum setup. Thank you for expanding my mind!!!!
Serious, sensible work by the master from the Isles, again.
This feels like a total cheat code that you’ve unleashed here. Tried this today with fantastic results in under 20 minutes. Totally not what I normally do, but really sparks some ideas. Thanks!
Wtf. You just made my head hurt. That’s so good mate. Love the organised chaos.
Leading the way. Absolutely mint.
Very inspirational stuff, thank you very much! 👌
This is fantastic stuff! Thank you!
oh god, I love it. Great ideas, very fun
This is ridiculously brilliant ❤
I forgot to come back and thank you for this one. Dude. I had missed the DS modules, but never again! The ones you can just drop a sample on are especially fun, but I played with all of them, made something incredibly random, then again 3 or 4 more times...and turned the result into a song [link removed by me]. Not entirely done yet, still mixing it down and already it's better than presented-- so close to done, letting it rest-- but that version is whole and gives the right idea. In any case, thank you so much, again. There's so much to explore in Ableton, I can get stuck just playing with the same toys over and over. I love it when someone successfully points me to an area I was ignoring. I love simple tools used in complex ways. The DS tools are perfect in that way. Cheers.
Do you cook the same way you design sounds? Invite me for dinner please!
This was awesome. You can group the expression control to get even more random mods.
Thank you so much, didn't bother about Expression Control. Oh how I miss this for so long !!!
Congrats on getting on the Ableton front page!

That was awesome, thanks!

Defo got a new sub. That was good fun.
What a thrill, thanks for this. Your videos are always such a joy. Anyway, I had to buy a friend two beers because we bet on if/how you would deal with the Echo airtime. I was certain you’d rhythmically bring it in and out with an additional beat-time synced lfo. Cheers
This is so sick
