How do you know what clip is what and where it is without squinting at the screen? I'm looking to completely get rid of the cdjs, but the display they have just makes life a whole lot easier.

Practicing your set and knowing where it goes is helpful. Also having a specific colour scheme for knowing when you want to switch from one scene to the next is very helpful.

Yeah I get that but “practicing your set and knowing it by heart” kinds feels like back to vinyl for me. I’ve spent a lot of effort trying to hack something together with m4l, but no luck so far.
When I bounce my stems from original songs the stems ofc have automation and filter sweeps and such. Do you recommend take all the automation out for the sake of playing live??

It's really up to how you want to approach it - taking the automation out will give you more room to shape lifts / builds on your own, whereas leaving them in is safer.
Great vid, are u splitting one track as all drums and track two as all synths plus bass?
@LiamKillen

Exactly- that's how i'm doing it.
Thanks for the tips! What cable is that going from M1.4 to Mk5?

Do u find the levels can be different per song, Say the kick is louder on one song compared to another? Or u adjust with in the live set
@LiamKillen
Жыл бұрын
yeah this is something that you sort of have to mix and figure out as you go throughout your set.
Also if u wana mix one song with another do u have to pull down two faders per song?
@LiamKillen

i'm not sure exactly what you mean by this.

It's because he has his songs split into two parts, melodic and drums. Therefore you need two channels on the mixer to get the full song. One channel = melodic, one channel = drums.
Can't watch your vids anymore 'cause too many ads
