@@sagar5006 The degree in forestry is not mandatory you can choose forestry as optional irrespective of your degree but it is must be from the degrees which were selected by UPSC

Pavani Perumareddy nope IFoS will have separate count of attempts

He said this was his second attempt in IFos. But if he didn't appear in first attempt then, how come his attempt was counted like he said. Can anybody clear this for me ? As far as I know, merely filling up an application form doesn't count attempt !

Attempt is counted when u appear for pre itself n submit Ur answer sheet to invegilator but if u filled form n not appeared on exam day then it's not counted....he appeared for pre n missed mains that year so his attempt was counted.. Hope it's clear now 🤗

Sir, you mentioned that Manikandan and Prabhu book is essential and dependable; I bought it following your recommendation but I found that the book covers topics extensively and not intensively. I am afraid that if I had bought a duplicate version of the book,since as per your opinion, it is like a Bible (w.r.t importance). Reading any topic gives no satisfaction as they are just point-wise and mug-up oriented.

You have bought the original copy. No doubt. The book is horrible and very hard to understand! I have no idea how toppers say so easily that Manikandan is Bible. That book is shit! But unfortunately there are no other 'good' books for forestry. So yeah, Manikandan it is, that we HAVE to study.

It's like shankar in cse, first use it to get the feel of content, then cover the core subjects from other books, for some topics manikandan is enough, others khanna, ram prakshash etc

@@monikasharma9001 Geology will be better .. Because u will have studied some basic information about geology (like rocks , minerals, soil ) in ur soil science courses.. And the syllabus for Geology is less , and easy readable and understandable

Studying Agriculture is very interesting and it makes u exposure to diff environments..and lastly..It's hectic to only dose who are lazy to learn things and to expose demself to different things..

Is the gk book available online?

Hello sir. Nice presentation. It's called IFS and not IFOS. Secondly, humanities background people are not eligible to write this exam. Atleast fetch full knowledge after clearing the exam. Lots of people believe toppers blindly.
